Backlit Canvas Art Do you have one project that you've been longing to do, but just haven't found the time yet? This is it for me. I call it my Backlit Canvas Art and the inspiration piece has been pinned in my "Crafts to try" Pinterest board for ages. My "pin"speration is an artist's piece made from metal that has hand cut flowers all over it. So I decided to give it a go and create my version. There are two main differences between the two: 1. 2. The idea of the canvas is that during the day (ie. with the Christmas light off) you have a beautiful sculpture while at night (you guessed it, with the Christmas lights on!) How about a tutorial? Supply list Mounted canvas (mine is 10"x10") cardstock to fit on your canvas (mine is 12"x12") stamps ink pad X-acto knife light source* *I wasn't sure if I wanted to use a single bulb or Christmas lights so that is why both are in the above picture. I decided to go with the same flower theme as my inspiration piece. I randomly stamped various flowers across my cardstock.

Tag Wallet Tutorial Thanks to everyone who voted for me over at SYTYC. I am still in shock that I won. Head over and vote on this weeks crafts. What you need: -4 pieces of 8-1/2 x 11 handmade paper (the handmade paper looks like paper fiber pressed together, it's stronger and has more flexibility than card stock). -lots of clothing tags in preferred colors ( I used about 40, but it will vary depending on their size) - colored ribbon- optional (I didn't have enough tags and wanted to add more green so I used three strips of green ribbon) -a glue stick -thread (I used 4 different shades) -a piece of poster board - one button Step 1: cutting the main parts I cut three pieces of paper into the wallet shape. Using my paper cutter I cut the black and green sheets down to a 7 -1/2" x 10" and the blue sheet to 7- 1/4" x 9- 3/4". Next I made the curve at the top. I cut the curve out. Step 2: Constructing the front Once I had them laid out I used a glue stick to hold them in place while I sewed around all the edges.

Tutorial: How to Sew a Cosmetic Bag - with link to another TUTE !! Here's the tutorial on the first cosmetic bag. Firstly cut out your pattern from the main fabric, interfacing (I used heavy iron on) and lining fabric (optional). As for the pattern, the pieces are as follows: One x rectangle 25cm x 15.5cm with rounded cornersTwo x rectangles 20cm x 3.5cm (these attach to the zipper)Two x squares 7cm (side pieces)Two x 6.5cm x 4cm (tabs) 1/4 inch seam allowances are included I didn't use interfacing on the two side pieces that attach to the zipper but that is just my preference. Then iron your interfacing to your main fabric Finish the edges on the two rectangles of fabric to go either side of the zipper Then fold the finished edges to the wrong side Then sew these side bits to the zipper, making sure that it is the same width as the two square side pieces (these are a 7cm square) With zipper sewn in: Fold raw edges of end tabs in then fold in half Sew both long edges of the tabs Sew the square side pieces to the zipper part, adding the tabs to the centre
