Little Birdie Secrets Summer Fun Party Welcome to our Summer Fun Party! I'm looking forward to seeing all your wonderful ideas for all things summer. I hope this ongoing party becomes a fantastic resource you can turn to for ideas and inspiration during these summer months. A few guidelines: 1. 2. 3. (Linkup closed) My Backyard Eden: Fabulous Faux Frosted Glass {How’s that for alliteration?} Do you ever just walk into a room and notice things that you never noticed before, but have been there all along? This happened to me when I got back from visiting my Mom for Easter. I walked into our Master bathroom and noticed for the first time, that I could see everything inside this cabinet here. Aw…gee, would you like to borrow some dental floss, or maybe a feminine hygiene product? This cabinet is the only storage we have in this bathroom, so all of this non-displayable stuff has to go here. I thought about lining the glass with fabric, but then I remembered seeing Frosted Glass spray paint at Home Depot. I sketched up and then cut out some leaves and vines. I arranged them in a pattern I liked and using spray adhesive, affixed them to the back side of the glass door. Then I sprayed on two coats of the Frosted Glass paint. Make sure you have a friend nearby to help you watch the paint dry. Admire how pretty it is when the sun shines through the glass.

DIY: Bubbles | Refill Container This bubble recipe is so super easy to make and so frugal! Items Used: Refill container $6.00 at Wal-Mart 2 1/2 cups water and 1/2 cup light corn syrup mix in a bowl together and microwave four minutes Gently mix 1/2 cup dish liquid(I was told Dawn is the best) I made the letters myself with my Cricut and used Mod Podge to adhere them. And that is it and it works! I made four batches to go in this container. Reused Items: I saved bubble wands from old bubble containers Saved yogurt cups to reuse for something Everything else was already on hand except the container! Yay! And what kid does not like bubbles?! And the fact that it's a DIY dispenser! Happy Bubble Blowing!

markham street design Streamlining summer snacking » Kristen Duke Photography Now that school is out, the snacking can be out of control! I had this idea last year, and wanted to share how we control that boredom snacking around here. First, I printed some fake money that I found online here. I told the kids that at the beginning of the week they get 5 $1′s and 5 $5′s. They can use it as they’d like, but ideally they would spend a $1 and a $5 bill each day. This is our stash of $1 dollar items. I let them each pick a non healthy snack that they must use their $5 bill for. Below are FREE! Together, we portioned out the cookies depending on size. Here are the crackers portioned out in the $1 dollar box. This sits on our pantry shelf with the bills on them to remind them exactly what is in each box. Ready for a snack? The kids have really enjoyed this money exchange and get excited about it. {Snacks can be modified according to your family preferences}
