487 - A Map of State Movies | Strange Maps Each US state is fitted out with an array of state symbols, from birds and crustaceans over colors and poems to tartans and toys. This map takes care of a glaring omission in that long list of attributes, trivial and otherwise (1), and provides an overview of state movies. To qualify as such, a state movie has to be set in said state, and its location must be recognisable from, referenced in and (somewhat) relevant to the movie. A few movies cement the link to their state by name-checking the state itself or a location in it in the title (Raising Arizona, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Bull Durham), although a few mention a location outside the state itself (Fargo is actually in North Dakota, not in Minnesota; Kentucky's state movie is called Kalifornia). The title of Indiana's state movie Hoosiers refers to the nickname for its inhabitants. But most titles are non-place-specific, referring instead to the main character(s): Napoleon Dynamite (Idaho), What About Bob?

BLEUBIRD VINTAGE OFFICIAL BLOG happy holidays! we had a lovely christmas break over here. i can't believe how quickly it came and went. on christmas eve we invited some friends over and had a relaxing dinner. artichoke dip, honey roasted ham, beer cheese soup, along with plenty of christmas cookies and a giant present shaped cake that our friends so thoughtfully made for us. after opening up our christmas jammies and watching christmas movies, we tucked the kids into bed and popped a bottle of champagne for santa duty. the next morning the kids were up by 6:30 and rushing down the stairs to see if santa had come. good news... he did. i made a delicious soup inspired by the big kids grandmother. she makes a ham and bean soup with the leftover ham from the night before. i made a few changes, but it was easy and delicious. this is what i did... you will need: have a good weekend. i will be back on monday!

DIY An Amazing Animal Coat Rack | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh A little while back we featured this fun idea for turning old toys into photo holders, so naturally when we came across this Pack Rack coat rack, we instantly thought about a diy version as well. Sure you could probably use a more traditional hook or pull, but why when you can use that pointy zebra you've stepped on 900 times at 3 a.m.?You can find this rack for $50 at The Future Perfect and although that's a perfectly respectable price to pay for a handmade artisan good, that doesn't mean we don't promote creating things for yourself for an even smaller price tag. Try taking old toys or ones the dogs might have chewed off the back legs of and put them to use in this wall mounted rack. You'll also need a small hack saw, a few wood screws, E6000 Epoxy, a length of board, and a drill. Other handy items might include masking tape, a vice grip and a cold beverage (because every good diy project needs one). If you're not into DIY, please make sure to pick one up from The Future Perfect.
