Best Free Online Applications and Services Online applications (also known as web applications or webware) are getting more popular, particularly when broadband Internet access has become more common and readily available to more users. With online applications and services, you do not need to download and install them into your computer for using them—you just need to open up a browser and access them online. Not only that you can save harddisk space as they do not need to be installed, but also you can work with files that are saved online from any computer anywhere, without the need to carry a storage device even a USB stick around with you. Besides, you don't have to worry about different operating systems as these applications and services are cross-platform, running in your browser as a client. Neither do you need to keep updating your software versions, as you will get any new software updates and bug fixes automatically whenever you access them. Like to use them?

Free downloads encyclopedia PalmAddicts: Palm, Microsft & Linux = Interesting Times As I spend a lot of time dealing with technology issues for many different customers, I've found myself in a unique position to get all sorts of opinions on things, but moreover I think I get a good feel for what thoughts are going on in the industry. There seems to be a number of different standpoints at present, you have the Microsoft Haters and the Microsoft Lovers, the same for Linux and Palm, what I find interesting though is there seems to be no-one fanatical about Microsoft any more. This is dangerous for Microsoft and great for Palm, well, PalmSource or whatever they will now become. Some time back when MS released their Internet based activation scheme I can remember saying to people that if MS lost the support of the technicians they would lose the war. This was because of my experience in Technology companies.

Mark Rejhon Technology | Handsets get taken to the grave More people than ever are asking to be buried or cremated with their mobile phones when they die, say researchers. The trend, which began in South Africa, has now spread to a number of countries, including Ireland, Australia, Ghana, and the US. Martin Raymond, director of international trend-spotting think-tank, The Future Laboratory said that this had started off "in the realm of the urban myth", but was fast becoming fact. "You hear about it, the idea that people are being buried with their mobile phones, but you can't really believe it," he told the BBC World Service's Culture Shock programme. He explained that the first cases of people asking to be buried with their phone originated in Cape Town, where some people's belief in witchcraft meant they feared that "they could fall under a spell, be put to sleep and actually be buried. "In fact, they were asking for the phones to be put into the coffins with them in case they woke up."
