Fried Ice Cream I'm sure you are thinking about Cinco de Mayo this very minute. You should be because it's in two days. We look for any excuse to celebrate. We look for any excuse to celebrate with food. This year I thought I'd share a recipe for deep fried ice cream. This would be considered one of my "BIGS". You will need a good quality Vanilla ice cream, corn flakes, flaked coconut and cinnamon. I just happen to find New Simply Cinnamon Corn Flakes. You can, of course, use regular corn flakes. You will need to make 5 scoops of ice cream from a quart size container. Drop the scoops of ice cream onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Let me tell you what you don't have time for...PICTURES. The ice cream melts too fast. Put the corn flakes in a plastic bag. Pound the corn flakes with a rolling pin or crush the corn flakes anyway you'd like...just crush them. Put the crushed corn flakes into a shallow bowl. Add 1 cup coconut. Add one tablespoon cinnamon. In shallow bowl add 2 eggs and 1 tablespoon milk.

How to Make Lavender Sugar Scrub It’s not all power tools with me. I have my girlie girl moments too. One of the ways I like to pamper myself is with a nice sugar scrub. When I found out that my favorite spendy sugar scrub was nothing more than olive oil and white sugar, I decided to make it myself. I’ve been experimenting with sugar scrub recipes ever since. Lavender Sugar Scrub makes a wonderful moisturizing exfoliatant! Lavender Sugar Scrub Recipe The key is to make the scrub in small batches and don't let it sit around too long because it doesn’t have any preservatives and the olive oil will go rancid (just like the olive oil in your cupboard) if you one of those folks who lets things sit for years on end because it is too pretty to use. IngredientsAn empty jar with a lid (a small jelly or condiment jar works great for this project)Granulated white sugar (the amount will depend upon the size of your jar)Olive oil (the amount will depend upon the size of your jar) Lavender buds (fresh or dried is fine. iPad Apps for Education Add As the first real contender in the category of streamlined computing tablets, the iPad has captured its share of hype. The iPad’s potential remains undeniable, particularly in education. Education is discovery, education is interaction, and education is exploration. These are all activities facilitated by the iPad. I believe that the ultimate goal of the iPad (and its future ilk) is to be so intuitive that the user will forget they are interacting with a piece of technology. The iPad (or any technology) will not replace live instruction, as some have suggested, anytime soon. Few barriers stand between my vision for the classroom of tomorrow and the iPad concept as it stands today. For a more concrete sense of what the iPad can do, I’ve made my picks for the best existing iPad apps for education, and provided examples of where I hope developers take their apps in the near future. One of those uses is to create a coffee body scrub. It’s usually just the high prices that deter us from enjoying the benefits of exfoliating body scrubs. Since most of us have a canister of coffee grounds in the kitchen, creating this scrub will be easy, beneficial, and most of all, cheap! Not to mention that the coffee itself has added benefits for your skin and body that many body scrubs do not provide. Before we go into any recipes, let's discuss why a coffee body scrub is so much more beneficial than the everyday scrub. No more cellulite. Now that we know why the homemade coffee body scrub is so useful and such a great natural beauty product, we can move on to the recipe. 2 cups of coffee grounds (Brand does not matter--in fact, the cheaper the better.)1/2 cup raw sugar or sea salt2/3 tablespoon of massage oil (Any plain, cheap massage oil will do.)Mix these three items together in a bowl.

What’s Cooking in your iClassroom? While educators know that math is all around us, sometimes students have a difficult time grasping its impact on our every day activities. Though the apps listed below may not inherently scream proportions, rate, sequences, and percentages, they very easily lend themselves to providing creative and engaging connections to real world problem-solving activities. Some of the apps can be used as hooks and others to provide data for further problem-solving or to spark discussion. "One Good Thing" by Jillee: Whitening Whites...Can This Cami Be Saved? My post about getting armpit stains out of t-shirts apparently struck a nerve or something. It has received almost 100,000 pageviews and is the 2nd most viewed post of all time! Apparently I’m not the only one obsessed with concerned about white clothes being WHITE. While getting the armpit stains out of my sons’ t-shirts and out of my camis was very satisfying indeed…my quest to salvage perfectly good articles of clothing from the trash merely because they have lost their lustre, continues. This past weekend however, I feel like I made a breakthrough of sorts and feel compelled to share. Once again I drag out my poor stained, dingy camis as my “makeover” victim recipient. In my numerous field trips to the laundry section of the grocery store, searching for answers to this age old dilemma…I spied the Rit dye section. Long story shortened…I bought it home…used it…was fairly impressed with the results…but wanted more! Here are the “after effects”: And that’s today’s….
