DVD Secrets des Champs ou le potentiel du végétal Après le succès du DVD Cultivons la terre Rés’OGM Info présente son nouveau DVD : Réalisé par Honorine Perino, d’ADDOCS Regardez la bande-annonce en ligne : Les plantes cultivées ont un potentiel inouï. Né sur une idée originale d’un paysan-"philosophe", Dominique Viannay, ce film a pu voir le jour grâce à l’énergie collective du comité de pilotage mixte paysans-chercheurs de Rés’OGM Info et la fidèle collaboration d’Honorine Perino, d’ADDOCS, qui avait déjà réalisé Cultivons la terre pour Rés’OGM Info en 2008. Ce film illustre sans opposition ni polémique la manière dont les plantes cultivées s’associent, coopèrent, communiquent et cohabitent avec les êtres vivants qui les entourent : les insectes, les champignons du sol, et les autres plantes. Les recherches scientifiques et paysannes récentes ouvrent des pistes d’innovations pour l’agriculture, éclairées par l’expérience de Marc Dufumier, agronome émérite. Co-evolution of methods and thoughts in cereal domestication studies: a tale of barley (Hordeum vulgare) Open Access Highlights Models of cereal domestication help understand the origin of agriculture. Genome-wide analyses greatly increased the complexity of cereal domestication models. Cultivated barley genomes consist of blocks of the heterogeneous ancestry. Introgression played a major role in cereal domestication. Tracing ancestry of domestication genes is critical to unraveling the domestication history. This Mind-Bending, Colorful Photo Mosaic is Actually a Single Photograph Check out this colorful photo mosaic created by photographer Bela Borsodi for the cover of the album “Terrain” by VLP (you can find a larger version here). Would you believe us if we told you that it’s actually a single photograph? Well it is. Borsodi, a New York-based advertising and editorial photographer who specializes in still lifes, created the image by carefully arranging items in the scene through the viewfinder of his camera (you can do this by fixing your camera in one location and then displaying the camera’s view on an external screen). Through the careful positioning of objects and their edges, Borsodi was able to make a single static scene look like four separate photographs that were placed side-by-side. Don’t believe the explanation we just gave? Now compare this second photo with the first one. Creating the photograph was a long and tedious process that involved a lot of trial and error. On sait depuis longtemps que nous contrôlons la verticalité de notre posture grâce à une perception de la gravité au sein de notre oreille interne, en particulier au niveau du système otolithique, un ensemble de petits « cailloux » pris dans un gel et reposant sur des cils mécanosensibles. Dans les statocytes, des grains d'amidon appelés statolithes (violet) sédimentent sous l'action de la gravité et leur position est perçue par un capteur mécano-biologique. Or, les plantes sont très souvent agitées par le vent, sans pour autant perdre le sens de la verticale. Ces dernières années, les chercheurs ont révélé que les plantes partageaient avec nous le contrôle postural en combinant sens de la verticalité et aussi celui de la configuration de leur corps via le sens de la proprioception1. 1.
