The Friend « A. Kostia Writing a fully-fledged short story takes more than unrequited love and a laptop, even if the laptop is a new pretty one. I have given a complete list elsewhere, though. But you still feel like writing a fully-fledged short story anyway. Mostly out of habit. But that’s not all. I also have a friend. So anyway, this former friend of mine. ‘I believe in you more than in anyone else. Actually, it’s interesting how on earth I was able to be friends with a person who uses the word “marvellous” in his colloquial everyday speech. So anyway, this former friend of Vasya’s said: ‘I believe in you more than in anyone else.’ ‘What’s wrong with you?’ ‘Can I?’ They were both drunk by then. ‘You can,’ Vasya confirmed. The Friend reached out his revolting firm male hand and touched Vasya. ‘You see now?’ Everyone’s already realised by now what the author’s driving at. All this was not happening in a public place. Vasya gave a start, winced and looked at the Friend. ‘Are you nuts?’ ‘Since when?’

A Visual Representation Of The Relationship Between Science And Music | SF Globe Nigel John Stanford is a musician from New Zealand who is well-known for his work in the genres of Ambient and New Age music. In the video below, you can see a range of his musical abilities as he plays both a drum set and a piano while also rigging makeshift instruments from things like playing cards. This video is entitled 'Cymatics,' and cymatics is the science of creating visualizations of audio frequencies. On his website, Stanford explains how he became interested in visualizing sound: "In 1999 I watched a documentary on 'Synesthesia' - a disorder that effects the audio and visual functions of the brain. People with the disorder hear a sound when they see bright colors, or see a color when they hear various sounds. This got me thinking that it would be cool to make a music video where every time a sound plays, you see a corresponding visual element.
