Test Requirements/GPA class requirements The United States Air Force Academy retains a distinguished faculty composed of leaders, professionals and officers. A dynamic mix of civilian and military faculty and a shared approach to cadet education makes the Academy stand out as a premier military facility as well as a world-class institution of higher learning. Distinguished Staff Each faculty member at the Academy must possess a master’s degree. This talented faculty supports an array of more than 30 majors and 18 research centers. Dedicated, Accessible Instructors We approach education as a partnership in discovery, maintaining an 8 to 1 student to faculty ratio at the Academy. The faculty uses the seminar approach to instruction, when possible, keeping lectures to a minimum. Our instructors are committed to the education of cadets and do their best to not only teach the course material but also to help our cadets grow as leaders. Unless teaching or in a meeting, professors are available for extra instruction.
admission requirements Applying for Admission: Occupational Endorsement Programs When to Apply Applications for admission to occupational endorsement programs are due no later than June 15 for fall semester, Nov. 1 for spring semester or May 1 for summer semester. High school seniors are encouraged to apply for admission as early as the first semester of their senior year and should provide an official high school transcript including a list of courses in progress. # of Campuses Campuses Course Requirements It is necessary to complete the prerequisite coursework prior to entering medical school. These courses are most commonly completed during acquisition of an undergraduate degree, but individuals already in possession of a four-year degree but lacking some or all of the prerequisites can return to a college or university to take additional courses. Medical schools in the United States tend to require the following: * Two semesters of general chemistry* Two semesters of general biology* Three semesters of English/speech* Two semesters of introductory physics* At least one semester of calculus* Two semesters of organic chemistry* Two semesters of biochemistry Pursuit of a degree in biology or chemistry is the most common means by which undergraduates prepare for entry into a medical program, but practically any four-year degree can be used as a pre-medical major as long as the degree program includes or is supplemented with the courses medical programs consider to be prerequisites.
