HAProxy - The Reliable, High Performance TCP/HTTP Load Balancer How To Set Up A Proxy Server In Ubuntu Linux What is a proxy? Simply put, a proxy is an intermediate stop that your browser makes while requesting webpages and other web content from the Internet. Many companies legitimately use them so that they can filter content both for security purposes as perimeter control, as an anti-virus/anti-malware solution, or to make sure employees are adhering to Internet policy. When your browser makes a request, it first contacts the proxy server. The Easy Proxy For Ubuntu The ‘easiest’ way to create a proxy with Ubuntu is creating a tunnel through SSH. For a quick overview, you first must have an Ubuntu server with SSH access available to you. Once you have that set up, you follow the process in the article to use the “SOCKS” protocol to tell your browser to use that proxy location to download all information from. This method also works if you have a wireless router that supports SSH, such as Tomato or DD-WRT. The Almost-Easy Proxy For Ubuntu The second way you can do this is to use a web proxy.

Mastering Wget by Gina Trapani Your browser does a good job of fetching web documents and displaying them, but there are times when you need an extra strength download manager to get those tougher HTTP jobs done. A versatile, old school Unix program called Wget is a highly hackable, handy little tool that can take care of all your downloading needs. Whether you want to mirror an entire web site, automatically download music or movies from a set of favorite weblogs, or transfer huge files painlessly on a slow or intermittent network connection, Wget's for you. Wget, the "non-interactive network retriever," is called at the command line. The format of a Wget command is: wget [option]... The URL is the address of the file(s) you want Wget to download. Mirror an entire web site Say you want to backup your blog or create a local copy of an entire directory of a web site for archiving or reading later. wget -m wget -H -r --level=1 -k -p

Fetchmail Application Layer Packet Classifier for Linux Getting Started With The PayPal API Advertisement PayPal is the most popular platform for receiving online payments today. The ease of opening a PayPal account and receiving payments compared to opening a merchant account with a traditional payment gateway is probably the number one reason for its popularity, with a close second being the comprehensive API that PayPal provides for its payment services. In this post, I will break down some of the techniques and approaches to working with the PayPal API, in order to make integration and troubleshooting simpler and easier. Disclaimer: PayPal’s API is among the worst I’ve ever had to deal with. The Different Payment Options PayPal offers a variety of payment options, which might be confusing at first: Express Checkout The premier PayPal service. This list is not comprehensive, but it covers the main payment options (see the API documentation for more). Making API Requests PayPal supports two main formats over HTTP: NVP and SOAP. Requests are made over HTTPS. Express Checkout 1. 2.

Xming Xming is the leading X Window System Server for Microsoft Windows®. It is fully featured, lean, fast, simple to install and because it is standalone native Windows, easily made portable (not needing a machine-specific installation or access to the Windows registry). Xming is totally secure when used with SSH and optionally includes an enhanced Plink SSH client and a portable PuTTY replacement package. Mesa with GLX, or Microsoft WGL, provide interactive OpenGL® 2D and 3D network transparent graphics rendering. AIGLX is available for graphics cards that support hardware-accelerated OpenGL. PuTTY is Project Xming's preferred and integrated X terminal emulator for Microsoft Windows: superseding any requirement for a cumbersome POSIX API compatibility layer and simulated directory mount points. Xming is cross-compiled on Linux for Microsoft Windows, using MinGW-w64, mostly from canonical X.Org source code with my patches applied. X.Org, FreeType, PThreads4W, Mesa, PuTTY and xorg group issues in Releases
