Method 2 Everyday Maintenance Reader Questions and Answers Tips Makeup Savvy: Dazzle Dust Nail Tutorial - StumbleUpon I've been wanting to try out paint splattered nails for ages now, however it seems like alot of hard work and also kind of messy! So me being supposedly 'savvy' and all I came up with a probably just as messy idea...but slightly more fun and prettier. Also it looks alot more delicate than having a paint splattered effect and alot less nail arty and more wearable. Now like I say... it is kind of messy so you will need at least one face wipe/baby wipe and something to do it on like the back of a magazine. Also your nail polish of choice and a pigment or dazzle dust! I used a Barry M Dazzle Dust in Brass (100) £4.50 and the nail polish is by Beauty UK in Smokey Lilac £1.79. 1) Firstly you need to give your nails one coat of nail polish. 2) Once dry you can apply the second coat. 4) You can either place the pigment on every finger all in one go or do one nail at a time. 5) Then you basically blow the pigment in the direction of the nail. At this stage your nails will look something like this!

ASIAN BEAUTY FOCUS: EYES - thebeautydepartment.com photo: justin coit, post by amy nadine I believe that Asian women are among the most stunning in the world. We get so many emails from you and from those whose eyelids aren’t visible when they’re open (my client Rachel Bilson for example), asking how to make their eyes look bigger and I always first express my deep envy! Growing up, I was obsessed with supermodel Tatjana Patitz specifically because her monolids made her look so mysteriously alluring, enough so that she graced the cover of Vogue 39 times! There are a few tricks to accentuate this gorgeous eye shape and we’re lucky enough to have our lovely Jamie Chung back to demonstrate the techniques. Concealer/highlighter + sponge/foundation Brush Brow liner or brow shadow + hard-edged slanted brow brush Light shadow (wheat or taupe), medium shadow (graphite or dark grey), warm shadow (espresso or dark brown) + lid, crease and blending brushes Long-wearing gel liner pot (black or dark brown) + liner brush Thickening mascara (black) 1. 2.
THE GREAT SCENT SEARCH photos/post/design: Kristin Ess Finding a fragrance that’s right for you can be a rather overwhelming process– especially if you walk into a department store and mulitple sales people start attacking you with bottles. Today we’re going to talk about how to get the most out of scent shopping. I want to share a few tips and tricks that I’ve learned along the way that can help narrow down your choices. Try to go to a perfumery that specializes in helping you find the right scent. Search your area for a perfumery or apothecary, and if you can’t find one then opt for the nearest department store. It’s important to find your signature scent. ...love Maegan: Messy Rope Braids and Low Bun Hair Tutorial Fashion+Home+Lifestyle Blog These little rope braids are a fun way to add a little style with your own hair, creating a sort-of headband of sorts. Your hair doesn’t need to be extremely long, but you do need some length to cover the top of your head with. If you have layers, you could instead create a tiny French Braid where the hair is shorter and closer to your head, if that makes sense. But it’s a fun and cute braided hair style that’s just a little different. I originally wore this style last Summer with two slightly larger braids Watch and Enjoy… * Notes: Instead of one large bun, create two or three little buns at base of your head OR swap the bun for a clean pony tail. Wear it Up… Wear it Down… * Just bobby pin them in place or use a pretty barrette * Click Here for my DIY Tassel Earrings shown above * Have Fun! Find all my Hair Tutorials here!
KITCHEN BEAUTICIAN photos/post/design: Kristin Ess Considering nail art + polish colors are all we talk about for the first 20 minutes that we see each other, you don’t want to be that girl who has an immaculate mani accompanied by dry, crusty hands. Here in California winter has come to an end (UH, BYE!) but no matter where you are or what season it is, take 5 minutes to make this scrub at home with stuff you probably already have. You wish I was kidding when I say IT’S THE BEST. Get 1/4 cup of coarse sugar. Mix it all together in a small bowl until the coconut oil chunks have disappeared. If you have any left over (which I never have because I always do my hands and feet), you can put plastic-wrap over it and save it in the fridge for a couple days. BOOM! Related posts:

100 Ways To Nurture Yourself Probably the most important component to demanding your joy is learning to take excellent care of yourself – mind, body, and spirit. Think of caring for yourself as if you were your own child – giving to yourself at least as much as you give to others. You are worth it! Like joy itself, self-nurturing comes in many little bits. Put a post-it on your mirror that says, “You look beautiful!” OK, that’s more than 100. Here are a couple of books I recommend that helped me to nurture myself when I was feeling less than inspired: Stand Up for Your Life You Can Heal Your Life Choose Them Wisely: Thoughts Become Things Tags: intention , lists , self
