Cutting out the excess material allows the sling to be adjusted far more easily than if it is left in, and it doesn't compromise the security of the sling. You can make a fleece sling with regular overlapping pleats, but then a lot of material is going through the rings, and it's thicker and less comfortable. See my sling sizing page for more information, and add several inches to the numbers shown there, to account for hemming and sewing in the rings. Polar fleece caveats: Polar fleece usually has some stretch going from cut edge to cut edge, and a lot of stretch going from selvage to selvage. Fabric widths: Most polar fleece comes in a 60" width. 23 (Very) Beautiful French Kitchens Here are a set of very beautiful kitchens from French kitchen maker Perene. Perene’s portfolio is impressive with a set of luxury kitchens targeted at the high-end market and to those who do not mind giving an extra dollar for quality. Though majority of their designs can be classifed as ‘modern’, each kitchen is not without its own twist of style. Fancy decor, custom wall art and other curios lend each design its own flavour. Hats off to the designer here…and yeah, the photographer too! Loved the French ones? Fascinating Lamps by Calabarte | Pondly Calabarte is the pseudonym of a Polish artist named Przemek Krawczynski, whose art takes on a peculiar but incredibly beautiful form: cool lamps. The name itself is a portmanteau of two words – art (obviously), and calabash, the fruit that carries his imagination. The calabash is a bottle gourd originating in India, although Calabarte gets his supply from Senegal. Due to ancient domestication and usage, the bottle gourd has an incredibly tough outer shell. In the past, the gourd’s usage was defined mostly as a water container, due to having a tough, smooth shell with an ergonomic shape for handling, and natural buoyancy on water. Due to the combination of dark, thick material with a light source within, the primary art of his work, however, shines in the dark. Hard work, beauty, an exceptional degree of detail and a marriage between mathematical geometry and a rampant imagination – all imprinted onto the husk of a Senegal calabash. Website

Twig & Thistle I’m so excited to share my Oscar printables for this year! I wasn’t sure if I was even going to do them but I’ve been getting a ton of requests for them and I got really excited about updating the set. The theme this year is black, white, gold and kraft paper. I know, super original, but I think the design is a playful mix of formal and slightly rustic hints. This year’s entry contains invites, paper oscar statuettes, popcorn boxes, drink tags and of course ballots; everything you need to throw a red carpet party in style! Oh, and I finally put together an “Oreo Cake” that I’ve been obsessed with since I saw it the Martha Stewart 2010 September issue. OSCAR INVITATIONThis simple invite gets some glamour when paired with a black string & button envelope. PAPER OSCAR STATUETTES I didn’t know if this idea was going to work but I knew I wanted to create a three-dimentional form of the oscar somehow for the decorations and table setting.
