Sticky Lemon Rolls with Lemon Cream Cheese Glaze | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn Have you ever wondered what cinnamon rolls would taste like, sans cinnamon? Why aren't there more recipes for sticky, gooey, and sweet breakfast rolls without cinnamon or caramel? There are so many other wonderful options! I was craving a buttery, flaky breakfast bun with the sweet, tangy, taste of lemon — so I made one up. These rolls are amazing, if I do say so myself! The first time I made them they were a smash hit, and they've continued to be so every time since. They are modeled after the classic cinnamon roll, and partially inspired by this bread, with a buttery yeast dough flecked with nutmeg and lemon. These rolls are not difficult, and like other breakfast roll recipes, they can be made at night and put in the refrigerator overnight for easy and quick baking in the morning. The final word on them comes from my mother, who looked at me, wide-eyed, over the brunch table, and said, solemnly, "This is the best thing I ever put in my mouth." Chilli trick by Gordon Ramsay does work. | NARCISSISM IS NECESSARY You’ve probably noticed that most, if not, all my dishes that I’ve posted recently contained chillies. Well I can’t help it that I love my food with kicks but mostly, you got to blame Gordon Ramsay for my chilli obsession. Well, through television, he taught the world and me the neatest way to seed chillies. This tutorial is for those without the privilege of a food channel… # – First, roll the chilli with the your palm on a chopping board for about 10 seconds. You can roll it between two palms too. # – Then cut off the top of the chili. # – Now, hold it firmly in your hand, over the rubbish bin, with the cut part facing downwards, shake vigourously. # – Look ma, no more seeds! Now you can slice, dice, julienne, do whatever you want with your clean, seeded chillies :)

Garden slugs | Organic natural slug control Slugs and snails are annoying pests, more so as they are “invisible”. They are rarely seen at work because they come out at night and hide in dark and moist places, mostly underground. I accidentally discovered this very easy and organic way of reducing and eventually eliminating slugs from the garden. Eventually, the cat stopped coming due to oranges, new seedlings planted, or other tricks. Now, whenever I make freshly squeezed orange juice, I scatter the halves around the garden edges and pick them later, usually few hours after dark. What to do with all the slugs? There are other natural and organic methods of slug and snail control available, especially if your garden isn’t close to where you live. Beer trap: mix a little flour with a stale beer and fill a shallow container with the rim 1 or 2 cm above the ground so that slugs and snails can climb. Coffee spray: make a weak coffee brew with ground coffee and water. Similar Posts:
Crave-Worthy Cream Cheese filled Carrot Cake Muffins The end of summer ushers in a new sort of eating. The fresh, light flavors of berries and melons are replaced with the heartier, more earthy textures and flavors of carrots, zucchini, and winter squash. These muffins are a perfect blend of wholesome, garden-fresh flavor with a warm blend of familiar spices. The carrots are placed in a blender and chopped until virtually pureed, then mixed into a batter that bakes up moist and mouthwaters with a dollop of cream cheese baked in the center. Top 10 Best Novels of the Last 20 Years Books The ten novels on this list all substantiate the belief that books are the most elastic, introspective, human and entertaining form of media that exist. Not movies, not music, not art, not the theatre. A famous author once said that novels are the best way for two human beings to connect with each other. I believe this, and I believe that people who do not find pleasure in words have never had the opportunity to read one of the great novels. The first introductions students often have to literature are stale century-old books that do not translate well to this new modern era. Music for Torching by A.M. Jamaican Banana Fritters - ThatsSoYummy.com There’s a thing in my house that when you have ripe ol bananas either you make banana bread or banana fritters. These delicious tasty treats can be eaten morning, noon, or night, as a snack or as dessert. These fritters are so easy to make and will satisfy any craving you may have. So if you have a few of these bananas lying around your hose… don’t toss them, put them to GREAT use! Enjoy! Peel and mash the ripe bananas. Beat egg, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Next, blend egg mixture with mashed bananas. Make sure it is all incorporated. Then sift flour and baking powder into the banana/egg mixture. Mix it all together. If the batter seems to be too thick add a little milk… I added about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of milk. Add oil to a frying pan and place on medium high heat. Drop spoonfuls of the banana fritter batter into the hot oiled frying pan. Flip when you see the edges starting to get brown and golden. Lastly, combine cinnamon and sugar together to create your cinnamon sugar. Ingredients

Killer Peanut Butter Mousse Brownie Pie I can think of worse ways to die... We’re eating a chilled “pie” made of layers of fudgy coffee brownies, rich airy peanut butter mousse, crumbled Reese’s peanut butter cups and finished with a drizzle of ganache. It’s a well-known fact that sweets are not really my cuppa beer. (I don’t really do “joe” either!) That being said, T-dog loves him some sweets so from time to time I give in and make him something decadent. Going into the this dish with the concept in my head, I had no idea how wildly popular it was going to turn out to be! Killer Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie For the Brownies: 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped 1 stick butter, cut in cubes 1 tbsp instant espresso or coffee (optional) 2 eggs 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 3 fingered pinch of salt 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed) 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup all purpose flour For the Peanut Butter Mousse: 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter, (do NOT use natural or crunchy!) Cake Batter Pancakes I’m fairly convinced that the world would be a better place if more sprinkles were involved. I know. I just made pancakes. It seems I have an unnatural obsession with cake batter. Well I do. When I develop recipes, I try to make all of them for a purpose. Case in point: it isn’t anyone’s birthday. But I don’t need an excuse to eat cake and sprinkles. And because pancakes always need some sort of topping, I went with a sprinkled glaze. Because nothing goes better with cake than more sugar! These are just plain fun. Sure, they would be best for a special occasion like a birthday, but they also work on a random Saturday in January when it’s -2 degrees outside and all you want to see is some sunshine. That wasn’t me. And yes, this means you will have an open box of cake mix, just like you did with the cake batter bark. Cake Batter Pancakes makes about 12 pancakes 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 2/3 cup yellow cake mix 1 tablespoon sugar 3/4 teaspoon baking powder pinch of salt 2 eggs assorted sprinkles
