The Light in Winter | Fed Square Experience art, music and performance from dusk with Federation Square’s annual winter program, The Light in Winter. Directed by arts luminary Robyn Archer, The Light in Winter brings together local and international artists to Melbourne for free events, exhibitions, public art and the much-loved Solstice Celebration. This year’s program will include the world premiere of Radiant Lines, an interactive light installation by exciting UK designer Asif Khan, as well as whimsical works of puppet theatre and new media art by Papermoon (Indonesia) and Melbourne’s Cake Industries. Asif Khan recently designed a pavilion at the Sochi Winter Olympics with the faces of crowd members on the side rendered in 3D and over 8 metres tall. Recently shortlisted to design the UK Pavilion at the Milan World Expo 2015, Khan was also named Designer of the Future by Design Miami in 2011 and written up in the Observer Newspaper’s ‘Ones to Watch For 2012′ list. Festival GAMERZ 13 Suzanne Treister est née à Londres en 1958, où elle réside présentement. Utilisant différents médiums, dont la vidéo, internet, les technologies interactives, la photographie, le dessin et l’aquarelle, Treister s’intéresse dans son travail à des récits excentriques et à des corpus de recherche non conventionnels pour révéler les structures qui entravent le pouvoir, l’identité et le savoir. Se déroulant souvent sur plusieurs années, ses projets proposent des réinterprétations fantastiques de taxonomies et d’histoires données qui examinent l’existence des forces cachées, occultes, à l’œuvre dans le monde, qu’il sagisse du milieu des entreprises, du militaire ou du paranormal. « HEXEN 2.0 » étudie en particulier les participants des fameuses Macy Conferences (1946-1953), dont l'objectif premier était d'établir les fondations d'une science générale du fonctionnement de l'esprit humain.
