Yes. For real. Two ingredients. (Yes, you can add other things if you want… but you don’t HAVE to!) I made this up after seeing a “healthy breakfast cookie” that wanted me to add eggs, applesauce, baking soda, etc and I said NO! And also, I hate those “two/three ingredient” recipes where one of the ingredients is a boxed cookie mix. and the other is a can of pie filling. Ingredients: 2 large old bananas1 cup of oats (quick or regular! Mix those two together. Then add in what sounds yummy to you! Since all bananas are different sizes, the needed measurements can vary. We made 16 cookies with those measurements. pre-mixing. post-mixing. pre-cooking. post-cooking. check out those walnut chunks! These cookies taste most amazing right out of the oven. Sometimes we’ll make 16 “cookies”. Why this recipe is awesome? I hope you like these. Follow us for instagram for updates! (p.s. check out our “autumn” 2 ingredient cookie!) (p.s.s. and now check out our summer 2 ingredient cookie!)

How to Make Easy 3-Ingredient Energy Bars at Home Cooking Lessons from The Kitchn Previous image Next image Power bars! Make them at home with only three ingredients and a food processor. Prepare for your minds to be blown. I am a huge fan of chewy, nutty, fruit-filled energy bars of the sort made by Lärabar. I tinkered with ratios a bit, but in the end, I decided to take the most straight-forward path: equal parts dried fruits, nuts, and pitted dates. My favorite is still cherries, almonds, and dates (which are pictured here), but you can swap out the cherries and almonds for any dried fruit or nut. You can also play around with adding other ingredients into the mix: a few tablespoons of chia seeds, a handful of coconut, even some chocolate chips. Making energy bars really is that simple. How to Make Easy 3-Ingredient Energy Bars at Home Makes 8 large bars or 16 small square-shaped bars What You Need Ingredients 1 cup nuts 1 cup dried fruit 1 cup (12-15 whole) pitted dried dates, preferably Medjool Equipment Food processor Plastic wrap or wax paper Sharp knife Instructions

Feel free to add vanilla extract or your sweetener of choice to flavor this whipped cream. About the author: Tiffany is a real food mama who lives in Oregon.

Hot cocoa cookies I am a teeny bit obsessed with the cookies from the most recent issue of EveryDay with Rachael Ray magazine. This recipe is the second of many cookie recipes on my list to make this holiday season. Sweets are taking over my life! Just ask my coworkers. They get my leftovers, and I think they are starting to resent the way I am forcing them to eat sinful treats. I don't think I need to tell you that these were tasty. Ooey gooey chocolatey marshmallowy deliciousness. In a medium saucepan, melt together: 1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter 12 oz. chopped semisweet chocolate (bars) Stir frequently over medium heat until smooth. How to Make Sauerkraut Sauerkraut has been around for at least a couple of thousand years. If you’d like a more detailed history, you can take a peek at this article. It was eaten by workers on the Great Wall of China, packed by Captain Cook to prevent scurvy, and valued by Northeastern Europeans as a staple food through the long winters. We began our sauerkraut adventure with a couple of heads of cabbage from the fall garden. Here are the official instructions from www.wildfermentation.com, which are the same as those in the book Wild Fermentation. How to Make Sauerkraut Timeframe: 1-4 weeks (or more) Special Equipment: Ceramic crock or food-grade plastic bucket, one-gallon capacity or greater Plate that fits inside crock or bucket One-gallon jug filled with water (or a scrubbed and boiled rock) Cloth cover (like a pillowcase or towel) Ingredients (for 1 gallon): 5 pounds cabbage 3 tablespoons sea salt Process: Chop or grate cabbage, finely or coarsely, with or without hearts, however you like it. 2013-2014 Update

Deluxe Stuffed Rice Krispies Treats The hardest part of this recipe is just figuring out what to call it! Deluxe Rice Krispy Treats? Gourmet Rice Krispies Treats? Stuffed Rice Crispy Treats? I love Amy Miller‘s suggestion of lasagna for sugar addicts. No matter what you want to call them, hot damn are these good. One disclaimer – you could certainly use homemade rice krispies treats. For each treat, I used two rice krispies treats. I use smush as a technical term often. Because my marshmallow was SO giant, I had to cut off the extra that oozed out the edges. Next, coat one of your krispy treats with your melted chocolate. Put your graham cracker marshmallow sandwich on the chocolate coated krispy treat, add some chocolate to the top of the graham crackers, and to the other rice krispy treat, then sandwich them together. And now you have this deliciousness. That’s what I’m talking about. I used Kraft Caramel Bits. Cover one of your krispy treat with the melting chocolate, pretzels and mini chocolate chips.

Flavored Iced Tea Recipes Okay, I have to admit that I went a little overboard making up tea flavors for this post. As you will soon see for yourself, there is no limit to the number of different iced tea flavors you can invent. And it couldn't be easier. I made all of these teas with things that I had in my pantry and fridge. If you haven't read my post How to Make Refrigerator Iced Tea, you need to understand that technique before trying the ideas in the post. I will explain the ingredients I used in these categories: jams and preservesfruit juicesfresh herbsspices and flavoringssyrups and sweeteners Here are the photos and details. Jams and preserves: I discovered that these work great for flavoring tea. I didn't want the mushy fruit or seeds floating around in the tea--just wanted the fruit flavor. Want it sugar free? Even if you're using tea bags for the tea, a tea basket is perfect for straining out the fruit bits and letting the fruit flavor seep into the tea. Want it sugar free? MAKE IT A COCKTAIL!

Giant S’mores Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies I swear I wasn’t going to do this. I wasn’t going to stuff something inside of something else. It was too trendy. And then, not trendy at all. (Neither of which I’m actually about, anyway.) But I succumbed to the pressure of a college kid who just finished finals. S’mores stuffed into thick and chewy chocolate chip cookies. But alas, perfection. So there. Giant S’mores Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies I made my own graham crackers for these s'mores stuffed cookies, but you can certainly use store-bought crackers if you're pressed for time or you know, not crazy like me. Making vinegar the old way A warm and sincere thank you to everyone who visited Sarndra yesterday. We are both delighted with your lovely and encouraging comments. I have no doubt Sarndra will have many excellent organising ideas in the future and I'm looking forward to seeing how she leads us towards better organised homes. I have been reading the wonderful Wild Fermentation book by Sandor Ellix Katz, with foreword by Sally Fallon of Nourishing Traditions fame. I love good vinegar. You can make excellent vinegar at home using old wine, apple cider or fruit. Air is very important to vinegar making - it is an aerobic process. If your first attempts at vinegar making fail and you've been using glass, you can give it another go using a container that doesn't let in any light. If you don't have access to rainwater, the day before you make your vinegar, save a litre of tap water and allow it to sit un-covered to let the chlorine evaporite off.

Healthy Deep Dish Cookie Pie And than a warm chocolate chip cookie? If you answered, “Katie, is better than a warm chocolate chip cookie,” you’ve obviously never met a cookie pie. (Above, topped with a super-healthy ice cream recipe I’ll post next week.) This pie is everything you’d want in a cookie. Except, oh yes, it happens to be ! I could sit here and tell you about how I was in charge of dessert for our neighborhood Memorial Day party. But really, you don’t want to know all of this, do you? Side note: If you make 1/4 of the recipe, you can put it in a mini springform pan for a baby pie, like the one above. (gluten-free!) Medicinal Pickled garlic | Cheryl's Delights 6K+ I found this recipe in the book Rosemary Gladstar’s Medicinal Herbs: A Beginner’s Guide . If you do not have this book I suggest you look into getting it. According to Gladstar’s book, “Garlic is the herb of choice in treating colds, flu, sore throats and poor or sluggish digestion… makes a potent internal and external antiseptic, antibacterial, and antimicrobial agent effective for treating many types of infection.” Peeled garlic cloves (enough to fill a jar) Raw apple cider vinegar Raw Local Honey Fill a mason jar with garlic cloves; use any size jar you like. After 3-4 weeks, strain off the liquid(this is when you will add the honey). said,” …to be used in salad dressings and marinades. “ Oh, what about a brine for refrigerator pickle items? Place ½ the liquid in a sauce pan and add an equal amount of raw honey. Eat the garlic as you wish. I have had a few questions about garlic turning green or blue, this is a natural reaction.
