Crochet Valentine Hearts Photo Tutorial I am a woman of my word. I promised a step-by-step photo tutorial for these little heart cuties, and I am here. to. DELIVER! (Hey look, I did that blogger thing where I made a nice pinnable image for you!) These itty bitties are so leetle and so sweet and so quick and simple. Second things second: although this isn’t a difficult crochet pattern, you’ll of course have an easier time if you are already familiar with crochet basics. Aren’t they darling? You can use any old scrap yarn you have lying around, and any size hook that is appropriate for your yarn (if you’re using worsted weight yarn, anywhere from an F through a K should work nicely). You’ll need to start with a magic circle. Make your magic circle and chain 3. Now you’re going to work 3 treble (or triple) crochets into the circle. Then insert your hook into the circle and pull up a loop, then yarn over again: You’ll now have 4 loops (plus the yarn over) on your hook (as pictured above). There’s your first treble crochet!
Teeny petits cœurs This is my pattern for making Teeny Tiny Hearts which are rather on the cute side and super easy and quick to do. The pattern is written in UK terms, the stitches as follows :: sl st :: insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch, then through the loop on your hook. dc (double crochet) :: insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch (two loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops on hook. htr (half treble) :: yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch (three loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all three loops on hook. tr (treble) :: yarn over , insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch (three loops on hook), yarn over and pull through two loops on hook (two loops left on hook), yarn over and pull through remaining two loops. For US peeps: UK dc = US sc UK htr = US hdc UK tr = US dc To begin :: chain 4, join with a slip stitch to form a ring. Chain 2 (counts as 1 dc) (picture above)...
It’s a Girl, Sunburst Granny Square Blankie : Deuce Cities Henhouse by Scoops on February 16, 2009 Colez is having a baby in July, and I decide that I should probably make her baby a baby blankie. I am kind of a baby blanket fanatic, I myself still have my own baby blanket after 27 years (I think it’s impressive). As a kid I was very particular about my “GeeGee” and I never let it drag on the ground or get dirty. My mom would wash it for me a “special” way, I had very high standards. I was originally inspired to try and crochet the Granny Square style blanket from a post that I had seen on Apartment Therapy’s Ohdeedoh site. I found the pattern via an expert crocheter’s flickr page. The first ten squares! I couldn’t figure out how big to make a baby blanket. I didn’t make any of the squares the same, but I did make different versions with the same colors. A close-up. Shit Yeah, it’s almost done. Related posts:

E' tutto! Antonella
