March 2008 Yes, this is supposed to be a blog about knitting, but today I am going to post about crochet. Crochet is not something that I do (although my Mum did try to teach me many moons ago). And boy do I wish I had listened more then. Ah well, we live and learn. Do you crochet? If so, then you may already get a lot of this stuff that I am about to talk about. If you do not crochet (and I am in that boat), then I am going to urge you to get yourself a crochet needle and have a go. So, what has gotten me all excited about crochet? New Chunky Bobble flower Granny Square Made several versions before deciding on the chunky bobble flower with leaves in a Granny Square Round 1: Chain 4 and sl st into a circle Round 2: 8SC into circle sl st to complete round change colour Round 3: these bobbles are quite chunky and again worked from the back of the work so the bobble pop on the right side Attach flower colour with a SC and in the same stitch do a cluster of 3 Trebles,* sc into next stitch and another cluster of 3 trebles* and repeat*to* until you have 8 bobble petals Would make a lovely flower decoration as it is so stop here if you want to Round 4: Adds leaves and work from the front of the square again

Daisy Granny Square pattern Hello Lovelies, thank you all so much for your wonderful "Yorkshire" comments. I'm so glad you enjoyed sharing my pictures :0) Here is a photo tutorial of my latest square .Quite a few you you lovelies seemed to like it . I expect there are similar patterns already in existence , but this is my own creation and thought you might like to try it ..... It's a simple pattern . The only part you may find tricky is the puff stitch . The pattern is written in U.S. terms. using yellow yarn.......... begin by chaining 4 and slip stitch in first ch to join to form a ring........... ch 1 ........ and work 7 sc into ring, the space you want is the bottom space in the picture above ............ I crochet over the loose end as I make my sc stitches , that way you can pull the centre tighter with it if you want slip stitch into first sc to join and fasten off......... NOTE the next part will seem rather tricky if you are not used to making puff stitches. yarn over hook 3 loops on hook 5 loops on hook
