It Happened to Me: My Boyfriend Died He drank Mountain Dew Code Red. His favorite piece of clothing was a Dallas Cowboys T-shirt, because he was born in Texas. He used American Crew hair gel. On special occasions, he smelled like Drakkar Noir, a gift from a high-school girlfriend he couldn’t completely give up. He drove a red convertible. He died on his 26th birthday. These are the pieces of a life, and a love, you won’t find in an obituary. At 22, I was a nervous, anxious wreck. And so it came to pass that in March 1999, I met a very beautiful boy with black hair and blue eyes underneath the Macy’s men’s store sign on the corner of 34th Street and Seventh Avenue. He called the next day. Greg refused to take life too seriously. A few months after we began dating, I found out he was sick. That’s a lot to process, I said. You can break up with me, he said. It was a deal. A few weeks later, I couldn’t reach him on the phone. And things were better. Soon, however, we found out his body was rejecting the transplant.
Alison on Photography Served When my daughter Alison was born, in the tradition of a new parent, I began to photograph her, initially in a separate and private body of work. However, in the process of documenting Alison's growth, I developed a passionate interest in human relationships and capturing intimate moments in the lives of family and friends. This affected my photography in a profound way. Rather than the isolated subjects of my earlier work, I became interested in the strength of relationships, oftentimes using personal environments to amplify those conditions. My photographs of Alison, because of the nature of our relationship, are very much a father-daughter collaboration-Alison permitting me access to private moments of our life, which might, under different circumstances, be off-limits to a parent. The significance of these pictures emerges in retrospect.
20th Century - German Literature In the 20th century the following events occurred: the First World War (1914-18); the Second World War (1939-45) and the Holocaust (Shoah); and the Cold War between the USA and the USSR which led to the division of Germany. Germany began the 20th century as an Empire under the rule of Kaiser Wilhelm II. In November 1918 Germany had a Revolution which led to the abdication of the Kaiser and the creation of the Weimar Republic. The Weimar Republic existed from 1918-1933, and the Third Reich existed from 1933-1945. In order to give a very broad picture, for the sake of convenience we can divide the century into two halves, and we can divide literary production into three genres (poetry, prose fiction, drama), although in practice many writers work across genres: In the first half of the 20th century the main literary form was modernism. The most respected German dramatist of this period is Brecht (also a great poet and novelist). Johannes Baader, Johannes R. Further Reading Walter H. J.

Layniefingers Ever have a day when you see something that totally changes how you look at something? Yea, that was me last night. I was browsing nail stuff online (as I so often do) and came across people doing a sponged gradient in a totally different way. (See here and here for examples.) It looked much easier than the tutorial I just wrote, and it looked just as good (if not better)! This is so much easier than the method I've been using. base coat2 coats of white2 coats of gradient stampingtop coat And that's it! I sent a link to my friend, needing to share my excitement over this find. I pulled out my China Glaze Electropop collection and started painting. Still, the one nail I did turned out beautiful. Even though I know how much topcoat can pull a manicure together, I was still blown away at just how smooth this gradient was! She was pretty gobsmacked too. So of course, I needed to do a full manicure like this, but I was too lazy to deal with 5 colors like I had in my test run.
CogniFit's blog Coconut Chicken Salad with Warm Honey Mustard Vinaigrette | Ginas Skinny Recipes Warm oven-fried coconut chicken over a bed of baby greens, cucumber, tomato, shredded carrots topped with a hot honey mustard vinaigrette. It's the perfect mix of salty and sweet, warm and cold. I'm not sure what it is about spring, maybe the thought of having to get into a bathing suit in just a few more months, or maybe it's just the sunshine that switches my brain to want less soups and stews to large main dish salads. This salad has plenty of protein to keep you satisfied and the warmth of the chicken doesn't leave me feel like I'm missing something. Serve this for lunch or dinner; use any combination of salad fixins' and dig in! For the chicken I found the cornflake crumbs gave this a nice crispy texture, but unseasoned breadcrumbs would work just as well in their place. Ingredients: Whisk all vinaigrette ingredients; set aside. Preheat oven to 375°. Combine coconut flakes, panko, cornflake crumbs and salt in a bowl. Lightly season chicken with salt.
German is easy! | The Blog for all who want to learn German… Design your own shoes | DIY | Custom Shoes Product Name: Sneaker Customization Kit Background research: As summer rapidly approaches, I’m beginning to notice that I need some new sneakers. But I’m starting to realize: either the shoes I like are too expensive or the ones that are affordable, I’m not so crazy about the way they look. Then it dawned on me, what if I were able to create a sneaker that perfectly matched my style & clothes that were already in my closet as opposed of buying a shoe, then having to go buy more things to go with it. Hypothesis: With the sneaker customization kit, I can create my own personal design to whatever sneaker I choose. The Experiment: I took a pair of sneakers that I barely wore, removed the laces, grabbed a couple of “sneaker preparation wipes,” cleaned off the sneakers, & let my imagination do the rest. Being that I am an artist, I analyzed the whole ordeal way too much, beforehand. Need some new kicks?
