Google Scholar a repozytoria i biblioteki cyfrowe w Polsce Tomasz Lewandowski Repozytoria i biblioteki cyfrowe mają w zamyśle zwiększać widoczność swoich zasobów. Jednak nawet tutaj pozostaje wiele do naprawy. The Dark Side W czerwcu bieżącego roku w arXiv.org zdeponowano zaakceptowany do publikacji w „Scientometrics” artykuł The dark side of Open Access in Google and Google Scholar: the case of Latin-American repositories.

Does Facebook Activity Impact SEO? In today’s post we are going to review the data we (Stone Temple) have assembled on the potential for Facebook actity to impact Google rankings. This is a follow up to the prior study we did to evaluate if Google uses Google+ Shares as a ranking factor. Let’s dig in! Google Visibility into Facebook Likes When you Like a web page it does not show up on your profile. Google has no access to see what you have Liked. So while Google can load the total number of Likes a page has, it cannot evaluate the quality of those Likes, making the information useless. Back in September we published a study where we attemped to directly measure the impact of Google Plus Shares on Ranking. At the time we also ran two tests related to Facebook. In the Like test, we obtained a large number of Likes to 2 different web pages on 3 different domains, for 6 total test cases: As you can see, we drove a considerable number of Likes to each page. Does Google Index Facebook Shared Content? Great question. Conclusions

kooaba Forest Guardians: A Developer’s Tale « Digitally Bold Forest Guardians, absolutely the most difficult game project I’ve taken on to date. That said, it’s been a fun game to develop. I really want to spend some time taking you through my thought processes for developing this game. Let you see what Forest Guardians started out as and what Forest Guardians (almost two years later) finally became. Where it all started I knew I wanted to make a tower defense game. So my first idea didn’t have little animal guardians, instead it was all about the Fairies. It’s interesting to look at this now, it’s not even similar to what Forest Guardians has become. The second image, below, may have some similarities to the final product. Redefining the Game I can’t be as specific with dates now, because the files that make the game are precisely the same as the ones I was using less than a couple weeks ago when finishing up the game. 2010 Christmas, I decided on a whim to make GooMonsters. The editor is entirely designed in Flash. Let’s look at some progression

Matt Cutts: Gadgets, Google, and SEO Fitbit has discontinued their Fitbit One step trackers, which seems like a good opportunity to step back and reflect on wearing one for the last decade or so. I’ve enjoyed using Fitbit trackers, but the One devices seemed like they broke down too often. I’m pretty proud that I ended up earning all the activity-related Fitbit badges though: In 2013, I ran a 50 mile race and I took 110,472 steps that day. I think I did some extra steps late that night just in case Fitbit ever increased their top step badge from 100K to 105K or 110K steps. But the Rainbow badge was a little harder: 700 floors in one day. DC isn’t known for its high buildings. That’s how I found myself on a Sunday morning in July 2018. Wait a second–the badge is only for 700 floors, so why did I climb 800+ floors? Overall, Fitbit’s badges have probably pushed me to walk more, along with a goal to get 10,000 steps a day.

SEO News Online» Google Sitelinks expand In their ongoing efforts to give better search results to users, Google is continuing to test the viability of providing jumbo-sized search results for search terms. Google is offering expanded Sitelinks display on searches by displaying a dozen or so links below the main search result. Testing of the expanded sitelinks feature began in April. Google explains that the Sitelinks that appear below search results will be URL’s added to a single line of text. In addition to the whopping number of results displayed by Google, the search engine has also improved their search algorithm. Although Google has tried to produce expanded results, users have observed that twelve results may not always appear for all brands. Although webmasters have greeted this upgrade with mixed reactions, Google on their part is still experimenting with this feature.
