Great Workflows To Help You Get More Done With Alfred 2.0 [Feature] Alfred is a great shortcut and productivity tool for the Mac that received a huge update last week. In case you don’t know, Alfred allows you to quickly perform tasks with a series of keyboard shortcuts. If you’ve used similar tools like Quicksilver or LaunchBar, then you already have an understanding of how Alfred fundamentally works. Over the past couple of years, Alfred has matured from a little app launcher into a full-fleged base station for getting things done on the Mac. Alfred has built up a community of users who have created some pretty cool Alfred 2.0 workflows you can download and use for free. ColorSync for Mac OSX Calibrating an LCD display in Mac OS X The following tutorial describes the process of calibrating an Apple LCD display using the Apple built-in Display Calibrator Assistant Utility. Before beginning the process of calibrating your LCD display and to make it easier for yourself I recommend that you use a mid grey desktop background. You can change back to your favourite background image/color when the calibration process is completed. From Mac OS X System Preferences panel open the Displays applet Ensure you display is set to the Native resolution (LCD's should always be set to the native resolution otherwise images will appear soft) Ensure Colors is set to Millions Set the Brightness slider to your preferred value (the Apple default is approximately 60%, although a slightly brighter level might be necessary on aging displays).
