Low Carb Soy Flour Pasta/Noodles | Yikes! No Carbs Please! I found this wonderful recipe to make soy pasta during one of my google searches for low carb recipes on a German forum for owners of a wonder kitchen multitask machine – it can do almost everything under the sun and is called Thermomix. If I were just starting out and had a bare kitchen and that kind of money to spare, this looks like a great thing to have. Well, unfortunately, I can’t afford the machine (the new model costs over €900) but I nevertheless tried the recipe. Or rather, I took the ingredients and used my own method since I did not possess the machine and could not relate to the instructions. I also did not want to use my bread machine as my Low Carb Sunflower Seed Loaf made in the machine was less successful than the version made by hand! Result – I came up with some amazing low carb noodles! Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino Chinese Stir-fried Noodles I haven’t tried raviolis, tortellinis and Chinese won tons yet. First two notes of warning. Low Carb Tagliatelle 2 tsp salt

Stuffed Breakfast Peppers — What's Cooking, Mexico? I have mentioned before that for me breakfast is the most important meal of the day because: 1) my parents always made me eat breakfast before school, even if that meant waking up at 5:00 am when my first class was at 7:00 am, and 2) the health benefits of starting your day with a delicious meal are many. However, there doesn’t seem to be as many ideas for breakfast as there are for lunches and dinners out there. That’s why I am always trying to come up with new things to make my breakfasts more exciting. Because, let’s face it, if your breakfast is not exciting, it is easier to skip it or opt for a less healthier option at the drive-thru or doughnut shop. Stuffed Breakfast Peppers Author: Ben Recipe type: Breakfast Cuisine: Mexican Serves: 3 •1/2 lb Mexican chorizo •1/2 small onion, chopped •2 garlic cloves, minced •6 eggs •1/4 cup whole milk •1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese •handful of fresh parsley, chopped •3 bell peppers, tops cut and seeded •salt and pepper to taste ¡Buen provecho!

In the past we’ve talked plenty about the health benefits of eggs and how to figure out which types of eggs to purchase, but what about cooking the perfect hard boiled egg? The fresher your eggs, the more likely it is that the shell will be difficult to peel off. Personally, our approach is to use fresh eggs, gently cook them for no more than ten minutes and then cool them quickly. Ingredients: Directions: Mix all ingredients together, stirring not too much, but just enough to make some of the avocado and egg into mush.

Keep-me-warm curry soup Heat the oil in a large saucepan, add the onion and gently fry until soft. Add the curry paste and chilli flakes and fry for another 2 minutes before adding the grated carrots, lentils, coconut milk and stock. Season, then simmer for 15 minutes, or until the lentils are soft (squash one against the side of the pan to check). Whizz the soup with a stick blender until smooth, season to taste, then stir in the basmati rice. Freezing and defrosting guidelines Make the soup, then leave to cool at room temperature.

How to Make Chocolate Ravioli Hello October. And HELLO how can it already be October? Sigh. I thought we’d start out the month with a bang. In my opinion you can’t ever go wrong with chocolate. I posted a sneak peak of these bite sized beauties on Instagram yesterday. You start with a basic pasta dough recipe and add unsweetened cocoa powder. The beautiful part of this dessert story is that you can fill these with just about anything your heart desires. I made a boozy strawberry sauce that we drizzled on top, after a little sprinkling of powdered sugar. Baci! What You Will Need: 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 4 eggs - divided 1/3 - 1/2 cup water 8 ounces mascarpone 4 tablespoons sugar - divided 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 tablespoon roughly chopped fresh mint What To Do: Into a large mixing bowl add: flour, cocoa, 3 eggs.

French Toast Egg-in-a-Hole Whenever I’m out to brunch, or even if I’m making it at home, I have a really hard time choosing between sweet and savory. Brie & Bacon Brown Bread Melt The humble bacon sandwich has been reborn! Just feast your eyes on this baby, baby. Crunchy brown, wholesome bread. Rivers of rich, molten French cheese. A heart of salty, crispy bacon. What’s that drizzling out from the middle? A sweet little kiss to the bacon’s saltiness and creaminess of the cheese. To serve one (double as needed) you’ll need; Two hand cut slices of proper brown bread Four slices of brie Four slices of streaky bacon Drizzle of honey One mug of tea, one cosy blanket and one film (I suggest this one, it’s brilliant!) Make it: Start by frying your bacon, and slicing everything else up. Cover both slices of bread with cheese. Top with the cooked bacon. Drizzle in honey. Grab the pan you cooked the bacon in and get rid of most of the fat left over, keeping a little bit in the bottom. Gently sandwich together your… sandwich, and place into the pan. Top with something flat and a bit heavy, like a baking tray. Cook on a medium heat for about 2-3mins, until you see the cheese start to melt.
