The headphones themselves are a mix of black plastic and cloth, with a bit of silver on the exterior of the ear cups. The cups have a large, black, oval grating over their exterior and removable cloth pads on their interior. Removing a pad lets you peek at the sound element through a thin piece of cloth and a plastic ribcage. This is the closest you'll get to the sound element. The cups tilt forward and back in a 30-degree arc, and can rotate a few degrees perpendicular to the band. The band itself is predominantly black plastic and extendible. The cord extends from the left ear cup, and is quite long. In The Box The Sennheiser HD 555 headphones come with a single extra in the box: a 3.5mm adapter. Durability The HD 555 headphones seem to be fairly durable, but do have some issues. The tilt and rotation of the cups also feels a bit flimsy. Aesthetics
DIY - MAKE YOUR OWN WAX FOR HAIR REMOVAL I was chatting with someone on my flight back from my vacation. She lived in another country where salons are hard to come by or if they are around, they aren't very good. So, sometimes a girl has got to depend on herself. You can make one on your own so easily. So when I described it to her, she loved it and she said I just have to put it up online. So here goes: Wax recipe Ingredients 2 cups sugar ¼ cup water ¼ cup lemon juice Method Pour the sugar, water and lemon juice in a saucepan, and heat it over a low flame. How do you know it is done? Take a glass of water and put a drop of wax into it. Benefits of making your own WAX: 1. Waxing strips: We used to do this in college all the time. NOTE: The inner facing fabric of the jeans should be the one touching your skin otherwise if you use the opposite side, your skin will probably get blue with the denim color. Waxing technique Test the temperature before applying the wax to your skin. Benefits of Waxing 1.

A Pythagorean cup (also known as a Pythagoras cup, a Greedy Cup or a Tantalus cup) is a form of drinking cup that forces its user to imbibe only in moderation. Credited to Pythagoras of Samos, it allows the user to fill the cup with wine up to a certain level. Form and function[edit] A Pythagorean cup looks like a normal drinking cup, except that the bowl has a central column in it – giving it a shape like a Bundt pan in the center of the cup. When the cup is filled, liquid rises through the second pipe up to the chamber at the top of the central column, following Pascal's principle of communicating vessels. Common occurrences[edit] A Pythagorean cup sold in Crete A Pythagorean cup sold in Samos Hero of Alexandria (c. 10–70 AD) used Pythagorean cups as hydraulic components in his robotic systems. How to Trick Your Brain for Happiness This month, we feature videos of a Greater Good presentation by Rick Hanson, the best-selling author and trailblazing psychologist. In this excerpt from his talk, Dr. Hanson explains how we can take advantage of the brain’s natural “plasticity”—it’s ability to change shape over time. gobyg There’s this great line by Ani Tenzin Palmo, an English woman who spent 12 years in a cave in Tibet: “We do not know what a thought is, yet we’re thinking them all the time.” It’s true. In recent years, though, we have started to better understand the neural bases of states like happiness, gratitude, resilience, love, compassion, and so forth. Ultimately, what this can mean is that with proper practice, we can increasingly trick our neural machinery to cultivate positive states of mind. But in order to understand how, you need to understand three important facts about the brain. Fact one: As the brain changes, the mind changes, for better or worse. Fact two: As the mind changes, the brain changes. 1. 2. 3.
