The Berlin University of the Arts A decision has now been taken on the twelve musicians who will be competing in this year’s Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann from 17th to 23rd November 2014. The international cello competition has been taking place in Berlin every four years since 2002; including numerous concert soirees, it follows in the footsteps of its titular patron, who was professor of music at what is now Berlin University of the Arts until emigrating from Germany. The participants will compete against each other in two rounds and hail from North America, Korea, France, England, Rumania, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany. After particular interest was shown in this year’s announcement of the contest, a first selection was made on the basis of DVD entries. more
Project AIRE AIRE Group Projects Tools for collaboration support: We are creating components of software infrastructure capable of supporting interactions among people, spaces and mobile devices on scales ranging from single rooms to inter-continental multi-person collaborations. Software infrastructure for human-centric pervasive computing: Collaboration support is the main target application area where we apply and evaluate our technology. We recognize that collaboration happens in scheduled formal meetings as well as spontaneously during chance encounters. Textile Design : Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design Textile Design at DJCAD offers you the opportunity to investigate textile design in a broad sense by encouraging you to consider both the practical and relevant way textiles can be applied and used within society. You will learn and develop visual and practical skills through making and exploring a diverse range of materials. Exposure to making processes which use cutting edge technologies will help you build indepth technical, sensory and aesthetic knowledge of colour, structure, pattern and texture. The course aims to develop students who can contextualise practical knowledge and the decorative philosophy that is inherent within textile design, through a range of applications.

SCAMPER technique training for lateral thinking The SCAMPER technique uses a set of directed questions which you answer about your probortunity in order to come up with new ideas. The stimulus comes from forcing yourself to answer questions which you would not normally pose. The questions direct you to thinking about a probortunity in ways which typically come up with new ideas. SCAMPER is an acronym which stands for questions relating to the following:
Graduate Studies - Interdisciplinary Master’s in Art, Media & Design The Interdisciplinary Master’s in Art, Media and Design (IAMD) draws experienced artists and designers from around the world, encouraging them to investigate and produce works that combine art, design and interdisciplinary academic study to create new forms of visual and social research and creative production. Each student’s primary discipline and chosen emphasis among art, design, or media practice and theoretical inquiry will determine whether the degree earned is an MFA, MDes or MA. Students thrive in a creative environment led by an accomplished faculty.
Welcome to YONSEI-INDEX Design to Improve Life Summer School There are two kinds of courses: a legacy course and an elective course. Along with the legacy course designed to develop fundamental ideas of design, students select an elective among 10 courses that go further in depth. Since each elective accommodates up to 30 students, it is strongly recommended to have 2 or 3 back-up courses in mind in case one do not succeed in registering for the preferred course.
