Handle the Heat » Raspberry Lemonade Bars templates These cute purses are so easy to make! It won't take you more than 30 minutes. Wouldn't they be a perfect gift for mom. Put a gift certificate inside to her favorite store/restaurant. Print out this template on a 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. When you are done cutting you will have 4 pieces like this. Fold the sides so it looks like a "M". Put glue to both sides with fast drying adhesive. Glue the sides to the purse (after you folded the purse in half) with the narrow side down. Glue the lid to the back of the purse. Take a ribbon through one of the holes and make a little knot. On the front of the purse, add a button, brad or whatever you like. Last - put 5/8" Velcro round with sticky back to the inside of the lid and the other part of it to the purse. Inking,doodling,Stickles..it would all look good here. If you give this a try, I would love to see the result. Who knows, maybe I decide to send out some RAK's;) As I'm sure you understand..I didn't come up with this purse idea.

3D paper diamonds Hello there. Hope you all had a great Easter! We had a lovely relaxing holiday (….well as relaxing as it gets with kids). It would have been great to have another week off ^_^ Before I forget I just want to say a big thank you for all the kind messages you have send me regarding my book (you really are a nice bunch!) I’ve been meaning to get this paper diamond up for weeks now…but it’s taken ages to figure the template out (and I’ve been having breaks between each failed attempt). It’s based on simplified version of Satoshi Kamiya’s origami diamond. These paper diamonds are tricky to make (& require a fair bit of patience) so definitely adults only! When you have made your diamonds you can attach thread and hang them up. How-to 1. 2. 3. 4. Happy Monday all! Edited to add: A few people have had problems printing the templates (the dotted lines do not print).

Easy Origami Box Instructions - How to make a Simple Origami Box The origami box is simple to make, and can be used to hold other origami pieces. Or important stuff, like candies. This origami box is also called Masu, which is Japanese for a square wooden box. Follow the step by step photos to make the origami box. If you prefer, we also have origami box video instructions. Made this origami? If you like this, you may also like the origami star box and origami pleated box. If you want a box with a cover, check out the origami box with cover page. Origami Box Start with a square 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) origami paper. Flip the sheet so that the colored side is face down. Using the mountain fold lines as guides, fold the four corners of the paper into its center. Then fold the right edge and the left edge into the centerline. Now fold the top edge down and the bottom edge up, as shown below. Then I'm going to ask you to undo the last two-and-a-half steps! The unfolded paper should like the one below. One side of the box will be formed as you do this.

Caramel Macchiato Cupcakes It was time to make something special for Winnie’s birthday. Besides that, I kind of owe her. She was one of my first friends in college, possibly the second person I met. We were sitting next to each other in an economics class (theater style seating) when I just fell asleep on her. As an added touch, I wanted to make the coffee flavored cake stronger on the bottom, lighter on top, an effect that happens in espresso drinks as the frothy milk is mixed in. pita bread Oh, am I so happy to finally have a great pita recipe. You see, pitas themselves aren’t hard to make. Most recipes very closely, or even exactly, resemble a standard pizza dough and they’re not much more difficult to assemble. No, the trouble comes when you pop them in the oven and pray for the kind of puffiness you can pop some falafel into and end up with flatbread. Delicious, warm, toasty flatbread, but definitely not a pita. But this works! This may also be the perfect starter bread, for those of you intimidating by the bread-making process. One year ago: Almond Biscotti Deb went on vacation and all I got were these lousy pita breads! Pita Bread Adapted from The Bread Bible 3 cups plus a scant 1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour (16 oz./454 grams) 2 teaspoons salt (1/2 oz./13.2 grams) 2 teaspoons instant yeast (6.4 grams) 2 tablespoons olive oil (1 oz./27 grams) 1 1/4 cups water, at room temperature (10.4 oz./295 grams) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Quilling - Turning Paper Strips into Intricate Artworks Quilling has been around for hundreds of years, but it’s still as impressive and popular now as it was during the Renaissance. The art of quilling first became popular during the Renaissance, when nuns and monks would use it to roll gold-gilded paper and decorate religious objects, as an alternative to the expensive gold filigree. Later, during the 18th and 19th centuries, it became a favorite pass-time of English ladies who created wonderful decorations for their furniture and candles, through quilling. Basically, the quilling process consists of cutting strips of paper, and rolling them with a special tool. It sounds simple enough, but special skill is required to create more advanced shapes like marquises, arrowheads or holly leaves. All through the years, the art of quilling has remained almost unchanged, but new specialty supplies now allow quilling masters to create anything from detailed 3-D figures to wall-sized museum installations. Zesty Lime Shrimp and Avocado Salad Zesty lime juice and cilantro are the key ingredients to creating this light and refreshing salad, no heavy mayonnaise to weigh it down. Made with the freshest ingredients; jumbo shrimp, avocados, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro and chopped jalapeño tossed with some freshly squeezed lime juice and a touch of olive oil. This will be a huge hit at your Cinco de Mayo fiesta or summer bash! Shrimp is low in fat and calories, but tends to be naturally high in sodium so if you are on a restricted sodium diet, you may want to limit your shrimp intake. wind-up paper butterflies are my fave (guest post from amelia) I had a baby so I’ve invited some fave guests to take over for me while I spend time with the little guy. Today’s post is from super crafter and cute mom, Amelia of The Homebook. Growing up, I had an aunt who lived in Canada. Every year for my birthday she’d send me a card and a fancy little gift. She always found the neatest things! One year, when I was maybe 10 or 11, she sent me another card—and when I opened it up, a paper butterfly fluttered out of the card. I made my butterflies into Monarchs, but you could use different materials to create any sort of colorful butterfly. Materials: You’ll need heavy cardstock, 24 gauge wire, silicone rubber bands (I found mine in the hair aisle at Walgreens) needle-nose pliers, scissors, tape, a paintbrush, a black marker, and a white ink pen. Step 1: Measure and cut your wire. Step 2: Find the center of the longer wire. Step 5: Find the center of the shorter wire, and wrap it around the base of the paintbrush.
