iGNANT Westpol architects created this wonderfully picturesque spot in Vöcklabruck, Austria where visitors are able to sit in the middle of a pond without getting wet. The scenic landscape includes a path leading down to a hollowed out circular area where people can take a seat and relax amongst nature. It’s a surreal journey along the gradual ramp to the observational platform as the water level gains height either side. Part I – Create an individual item of the pattern Step 1 Choose the Polygon Tool (you will find it under the Rectangle Tool in the Tool Panel). Keep your polygon selected and go to Effect > Distort & Transform > Pucker & Bloat… Set the slider value to 70%. (1) Copy Cmd/Ctrl+C the bloated polygon and paste it to front Cmd/Ctrl+F. Armed only with a sharp needle and lots of patience, Taharlev pokes the canvas thousands of times to reveal an image. ‘The use of a needle on a photo and the violent act of damaging and obsessing over memories, yet in a very strict manner, gives a new meaning to the innocence and the unknown future the photos hold’, says the artist.
