diy {bird nest necklace} I have been seeing a lot of bird nest jewelry around lately. They are beautiful and I love the trend so I thought I would try making my own. These turned out to be really easy to make and require just a few simple supplies. What you'll need: - Jewelry wire (I prefer using a 24 gage because it is easier to manipulate but the 20 gage can work well too with the help of some round nose pliers) - pearls or glass beads - necklace chain - jump ring and a clasp Select the beads you want, string them onto your wire and arrange them as you'd like. then simply wrap the wire around the beads wrap some wire in the space between each bead (I like the look of three loops but you could just do one or two if you prefer) this is what the back looked like. now attach a jump ring and a clasp to the end of a necklace chain and this is what you end up with :) I love how each one is so different just to show you the difference between the 20 and 24 gage... I think this one is my favorite
Circles and dots blue & blue dress !! Now with tutorial Finally, finally, finally!I'm so exited that i finished my first summer dress! I really needed one and the ones i started, for some reason, i never finished them (didnt like them, weren't what i wanted, blah) lol, but this one i did like, i actually love it so much. This is my first tutorial so bear with me These are the pieces you will need: Measurements:-Waist-Skirt Length-Top dress length, to decide where to put the waist band (mine's about 15 in. from shoulder to waist) To dut the skirt part just fold your fabric in half and measure half of your waist in a corner, and the length as you would a regular circle skirt. The waist band is about 2.5 in. 1. 2. 3. And ta da!

Patterns from existing dresses require laying out an item of clothing onto fabric, marking it, and cutting out. No pattern needed usually means that the dress is made from a recycled shirt. Vintage Book Planner Tutorial I desperately needed a day planner. With so much going on I can no longer keep it all straight in my head ’cuz something’s always falling through the cracks. So on my way home from the morning school drive today, I went to the office supply store to shop for one. Enter: A cute vintage book from my stash, one simple but pretty file folder and this simple tutorial! Find a cool vintage book close to the size and thickness of your planner and either a manila folder, decorative folder or heavy card stock. With a craft knife, gut your book. Save the pages for your craft projects. Trim away any extra scrap along the inside of the book cover, but careful not to cut through the cover itself. Turn the file folder inside out, and lay the book cover onto it with the fold of the folder lining up with the inside edge of the cover’s end paper and trace around the cover. Draw fold lines just inside the drawn book line. Cut the folder about 1″ outside the fold line. Trim away the fold creating two cards. Share

A Bath Pouf. That, Um, Looks Like a Rose.... Have you ever had an idea, and you thought "That's awesome! It'll be so fantastic!!" and then you make it, and you realize that it's really kind of kooky? That sort of happened here today. I was trying to think of something to do with these old towels I had. It's a bath pouf. But, I thought I would post it anyway, on the odd chance that someone might want to make one. And if not, please enjoy a laugh at my expense :o) What you do, is cut about 1.5 inches off one side of towel (to get that finished edge), and two circles out of the middle. Gently pull the bottom thread to gather your strip, pretty tightly.Sew it onto one of the circles in a spiral shape, starting on the outside. Cut a 1.5"x6" strip, and finish the edges with a tight zig-zag stitch. Then pin the two circles together, with your 7" strip laid across the bottom.Sew a tight zig-zag around the two circles, sewing right over each side of the strip on the bottom. Trim the edges of your handle to match the circle edges! There. P.S.
