Despite what many are led to believe, learning Japanese is not significantly more difficult than learning any other language. Most Japanese textbooks only go over a small subset of what you need to learn Japanese, typically covering a certain amount of grammar and vocabulary with a smattering of dialogues and readings. Another important distinction in the complete guide is that it does not try to hide or avoid more casual but perfectly acceptable aspects of the language. Resources and Tools There are a large number of useful tools on the web for learning Japanese. In order to fully utilize these online resources or if you're reading this book online, you'll need to setup your computer to support Japanese. After 2 months of planning and composition (okay, so I did procrastinate quite a bit), I now understand how Moses felt when he descended Mount Sinai with the holy tablets. Behold, Nihonshock’s newly revised and much improved Japanese cheat sheet! This is a “cheat sheet” for the Japanese language. It is an attempt to condense and organize as many of the basic elements of the language onto one sheet of paper as possible. How do I use it? The intended use of this document is for you to download it, print it on two sides of one sheet of paper and keep it wherever you need it (in your Japanese textbook, on your desk, in your pocket, etc). It’s possible to keep the cheat sheet on your computer, but it won’t be anywhere near as handy or portable as a printed version, and you’ll need to do quite a bit of scrolling and zooming because of the small font size. Avoid using anata whenever possible, and use the person's name with san instead. Similarly, when referring to a third person, use the person's name. ～べき is conjugated like this Vruべき or すべき (for the actual verb する only, or verbs like 充分する) 例：行くべき すべき Noun/ adj(na)であるべき Adj(i)くべき 例：心配であるべき 例：鋭くべき 目的でらるべき The adj(i) form is not used frequently, but you might encounter it in some books or proverbs. Because it is considered a noun, there is also a negative form and past form of べき, you conjugate it like any other noun. You generally end べき with だ、but you can also attach other nouns like こと、もの or even use the verbal form of べき, べく. ☆ Be careful, べき is considered very strong language in Japanese and should only be used with (or when referring to) people on your level or lower. べき is similar to はず be cause both express expectation. べき expresses the fact that something or someone is expected to do something based on the current situation, such as status (You should be polite because you're younger.)
