One of the issues in the region is the piracy epidemic affecting the waters around Somalia so we wanted to go to the epicentre of that plague which is Mogadishu. SARCASM IN RELATIONSHIPS Sarcasm – a mocking or ironic remark (American Heritage Dictionary) Irony – the use of words to convey the opposite of their literal meaning (American Heritage Dictionary) Sarcasm is a large component of social interaction and conversation. Sarcasm is an indirect form of speech intentionally used to produce a particular dramatic effect on the listener (McDonald, 1999, p. 486). Many people relate sarcasm to irony, but there is a big difference between the two. The subject of sarcasm is complex because many factors are involved. Negative sarcasm, where positively worded utterances convey negative attitudes, is used frequently in everyday language. Sarcastic remarks, like this, are usually accompanied by exaggeration, and intensifiers may be used on the words that state the opposite of how one truly feels. Sarcasm has been found to be “morphologically simpler and more flexible to use than direct forms” (McDonald, 1999, 487). People have different views of sarcasm in relation to humor.

Instant Dog Mom If you want to see a bunch of happy dogs, don’t miss The 10 Cutest Sleeping Dogs of the Week When a group of dog rescuers arrived at the market to show the dogs available for adoption, somebody had left 12 puppies on the street – 8 of them were approximately 5 weeks old. In shock, the rescuers didn’t know what to do. The group had recently canceled several adoption days at the market because of bad weather, so they were over their capacity with puppies still needing to be adopted out. That’s when a spayed stray dog approached, lay down beside the shoe box where the puppies were sleeping, and began caring for them. She wouldn’t let anyone get near the babies. Very carefully, the rescuers placed the puppies closer to her. She began caressing them and offering the warmth of her belly to the newborns. The maternal instinct kicked in and… after a few hours, she had milk and was feeding the puppies. The rescue group named her Vida, which means “life” in Portuguese. Source
