This article examines factors influencing news coverage of developmental issues in the context of NGO-media interaction in Bangladesh, by employing qualitative interview and thematic analysis methods. Introduction Developmental NGOs play a major role in Bangladesh’s human development process. Knowledge transmission and enhanced transparency are regarded as key ingredients of an effective strategy by development policymakers. NGO Activities in Bangladesh Bangladesh became independent in 1971, through a bloody liberation war to escape the rule of what was then West Pakistan. At the start of the 1990s, development prospects for Bangladesh were seen as slim, about the equivalent of those for sub-Saharan Africa today (UNDP, 2005:46). Dr. Brad Carter, Senior Lecturer of Physics at the University of Southern Queensland, outlined the scenario to news.com.au. When that happens, for at least a few weeks, we’d see a second sun, Carter says. The Star Wars-esque scenario could happen by 2012, Carter says... or it could take longer. But doomsday sayers should be careful about speculation on this one. In fact, a neutrino shower could be beneficial to Earth. UPDATE: To clarify, the news.com.au article does not say a neutrino shower could be beneficial to Earth, but implies a supernova could be beneficial, stating, "Far from being a sign of the apocalypse, according to Dr Carter the supernova will provide Earth with elements necessary for survival and continuity." The Tallest Man on Earth Kristian Matsson (born April 30, 1983) is a singer-songwriter from Dalarna, Sweden. Since 2006, he has released three full-length albums and two EPs. He performs under the stage name The Tallest Man on Earth. He is known for recording and producing his own records in whichever home he is currently living and states that the connection between his voice and guitar is so strong, he rarely records them as separately tracked performances.[1] He is also known both by critics and his fans for his charismatic stage presence.[2][3] Matsson is married to fellow Swedish singer-songwriter Amanda Hollingby Matsson, who performs under the name of Idiot Wind. The couple have toured extensively together, often performing songs together on stage.
