ANDROID, Artificial Intelligence - Research - Osaka University Where does the feeling of one's presence, such as the atmosphere or the authority of a person come from? How can it be captured, revived, and transmitted? To tackle this mystery, we have developed a new real-person based android, “Geminoid”. Research using androids requires various information on their "source": from their physical natures to social relationships, in detail. Since artificial intelligence technology has still not reached the level of adult mankind, robots can only respond in quite a simple manner. Research with geminoids take two approaches: One is with the engineering approach, such as development of effective tele-operation interface or generation of natural, humanlike motion.
ProjectsUsingTwisted – Twisted Twisted is used by many open-source, academic and commercial projects. Got a successful project you'd like added to this page? Mail a brief description and an URL (if appropriate) to success at twistedmatrix dot com! Twisted Community Code - This is a " "super project" hosting or mirroring many Twisted add-ons, Twisted-based libraries, etc., that are not part of the Twisted Project proper, but depend upon it. Ampoule - Ampoule is a process pool implementation written on top of Twisted Matrix. robots.net - Robot news and Robotics Info
Customizing matplotlib The matplotlibrc file matplotlib uses matplotlibrc configuration files to customize all kinds of properties, which we call rc settings or rc parameters. You can control the defaults of almost every property in matplotlib: figure size and dpi, line width, color and style, axes, axis and grid properties, text and font properties and so on. matplotlib looks for matplotlibrc in three locations, in the following order: To display where the currently active matplotlibrc file was loaded from, one can do the following: >>> import matplotlib>>> matplotlib.matplotlib_fname()'/home/foo/.config/matplotlib/matplotlibrc' See below for a sample matplotlibrc file. Dynamic rc settings You can also dynamically change the default rc settings in a python script or interactively from the python shell. import matplotlib as mplmpl.rcParams['lines.linewidth'] = 2mpl.rcParams['lines.color'] = 'r' Matplotlib also provides a couple of convenience functions for modifying rc settings. Salamandra robotica Alternative Medicine - Everything You Need to Know About Alternative Medicine Do you know the difference between a naturopath and a naturopathic doctor? If you have an interest in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approaches to health or medical treatment, and you live in the right location, you may have access to both. Knowing what these titles and their underlying credentials mean will help you make smart decisions about whether or not these providers can help you. Naturopathic Physician or Doctor Naturopathic doctors or naturopathic medical doctors earn ND or NMD degrees from a naturopathic medical school. They study all the basic medical coursework a medical doctor (MD) would study, plus the more “natural” sciences including nutrition, botanical medicine (herbals), and mental health studies like psychology or counseling. NDs have their own licensing exams, which they can take upon graduating from a four-year accredited institution. Naturopathic doctors are not licensed in every state or province in the United States and Canada. Insurance Concerns
The Cognitive Robot Companion Cognitive Robots Companions: a vision 'Developing cognitive robots whose "purpose in life" would be to serve humans as assistants or "companions". Such robots would be able to learn new skills and tasks in an active open-ended way and to grow in constant interaction and co-operation with humans. (excerpt of the European Commission's 'Beyond Robotics' workprogramme The development of a robot, which would serve humans in their daily life, poses several important challenges to Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. As a mechatronic device, the robot should of course be endowed with mobility and manipulation capacities in human environments. The dynamics of the tasks it has to achieve, of the situations, and of the interactions with humans, imply that such a robot companion will have to exhibit cognitive capacities for adapting its behaviour in changing situations and for various tasks. Cell study suggests creatine might weaken natural resistance Cell study suggests creatine might weaken natural resistance Some strength athletes are convinced that they react badly to creatine. They fall ill more quickly when they use the most researched and most effective supplement to hit the market in the last twenty years. Toll-like receptors [TLRs] were the focus of the researchers' study, the results of which will be published soon in International Immunopharmacology. Back in the seventies, researchers discovered that creatine has an anti-inflammatory effect. Because inflammation is closely bound up with the immune system, the immunologists at Creighton were curious to know whether creatine and its analogues have an effect on the immune system. When the researchers added creatyl [CEE], creatine [CR] and creatinine [CRN] to the cells and waited 60 minutes, the production of the RNA for the TLRs decreased. The photos above show the cells where the TLRs have been made visible using dye. Future studies.
