Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread I’m sorry. I know it’s Monday morning and you probably came here for some pretty pictures of food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day… and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face. It’s not fair. I know it’s not fair. You don’t deserve this sort of torture. This bread hits all the comfort spots in my soul. I’m sorry and you’re welcome and I love you. Let’s start at the beginning. I did this all without the use of a stand mixer and dough hook. This dough can be made and left to rise , then refrigerated overnight for use in the morning. This is the dough just before it’s left to rise. After the dough has rested and risen for an hour, I knead it in a few tablespoons of flour. This is the part in the bread process where you can wrap the dough and place it in the fridge to rest overnight. I worked with my dough right away. I can’t even deal. I sliced the dough, vertically, into six long strips. After 30 minutes in the oven… oh man…. bread heaven.

New Laser Zaps Mosquitoes in Slow-Motion Video A new laser system can kill mosquitoes without harming other insects, as shown in slow-motion video. It's all part of the effort to combat malaria. © 2010 National Geographic; video courtesy Intellectual Ventures Scientists have developed a hand-held laser that can kill mosquitoes in high volume. And they’re hoping that this will help combat one of the world’s most deadly diseases. A high-speed video camera that captures up to 6,000 frames per second was used by a company called Intellectual Ventures to show the invention in action. But first, to study the flight dynamics of mosquitoes, the scientists recorded their flight movements. In this video, a mosquito’s flight was recorded, and we’re seeing it in extreme slow motion. To get this footage, the mosquito was placed in a custom designed chamber that sensed when the mosquito flew through the focal plane of the camera. Later, after studying the data, and setting up the system, the mosquitoes are struck and killed by lasers.

Stereotyping People By Their Favorite Chick Flick Eat Pray Love is one of those zeitgeisty books that seems to have actually created an army of readers in its image: educated, divorced, middle-aged women with a hankering to “find themselves” in Europe and Asia. In fact, fans have been so enthusiastic that they landed the book’s Balinese healer in the hospital. (Or maybe he’s just really old. Lackadaisy Expressions Boy, I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started this. I've had requests for some sort of expressions tutorial dating back a while now, so I figured, "Sure! I can explain expression drawing...and it'll be way better than all those tutorials out there that are nothing but charts of generic expressions. Yeah! Just give me a day or two to whip something up..." Um. Anyway, I found all I could really do was try to explain ways to teach yourself...and then add some pictures. Row Three » Vanity Fair Recreates Hitchcock Alright, these are just plain cool. Vanity Fair had a recent photoshoot with some of today’s most popular stars where they recreated classic scenes from some of Alfred Hitchcock’s most iconic films. They’re all pretty awesome, but my favorites have to be Seth Rogen in North by Northwest, Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. in To Catch a Thief, and Scarlett Johansson and Javier Bardem in Rear Window. I’ve posted them all below, JUST CLICK ANY IMAGE if you’re looking for some big enough to use as wallpaper – and you can see the original post over at /Film.
untitled Best Buy may have found its gamer geek squad. A new Missouri-based company called Gamer Lounge has been working with a local Best Buy store to begin hosting a series of player tournaments, offering customer purchase help, and midnight launch parties in a trial that's expected to run through April. Other services offered include live demos, allowing customers to try games before they buy, and fitness nights using Wii Fit and EA Sports Active. The game section of the store has been decked out in black with comfy-looking chairs and impressive entertainment setups. A life-sized ODST drop pod complete with a working hatch door is also on display. "We would like to see a Gamer Lounge in every Best Buy but only time will tell where this trial goes."
