17 Old-School Recess Games Your Students Should Be Playing Now - WeAreTeachers Put down the phones. It’s time to go old-school. Sure, there’s tag and hopscotch, but what about SPUD and Ship to Shore? 1. Part patience and listening, part sprint and tag. You can sit back and watch your students scatter over and over again—just hope that the students with the most energy aren’t the ones who get SPUD first (rules here). 3. A duck-duck-goose variation that involves a basket with a letter in it and this nursery rhyme. 4. A Simon Says variation that has students “hit the deck” and imitate a “man overboard.” 5. This game is the best for those days when everyone really needs to let loose, and when you have enough room for the students to get some speed. 6. 7. Think of this game as reverse hide-and-seek. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14.

Filmen är baserad på den engelska författaren David Williams bok ”The Boy in the Dress”. Filmen är utmärkt att använda för normkritiskt arbete och en hjälp hittar du i den gedigna handledningen till filmen. The We and the I The We and the I följer en grupp snacksaliga ungdomar från Bronx under deras sista dag tillsammans på skolbussen, innan de ska skiljas åt och ta klivet ut i världen.

Culture Shock: Timed Skimming Exercise You have read about Romulus and Remus whose culture shock came when they went back to the world of human beings after being raised by a wolf. Tarzan's culture shock came when he discovered that he was not a "white ape" but a human being. Emily Carr preferred the culture of the First Nations people and the life she led on her explorations to the dresses and polite conversations of her own culture. You now know that First Nations culture did not include school or even business activity, people spent most of their time in nature or around the fire of their home talking, telling stories and making the things they needed to survive. Psychologists tell us that there are four basic stages that human beings pass through when they enter and live in a new culture. Culture begins with the "honeymoon stage". Unfortunately, the second stage of culture shock can be more difficult. The third stage of culture shock is called the "adjustment stage". The fourth stage can be called "at ease at last".
