Meridian Stories – Technology Driven, Project-Based Learning for Students 11 – 18 Years Old Global Collaboration Network The ISTE Global Collaboration Network is excited to announce an award opportunity. The ISTE Global Collaboration Award recognizes a person/group that promotes Global Collaboration with social responsibility in mind. This person/group incorporates the ISTE Student Standard "Global Collaborator" ( into their regular practice as a way to support learners. The ISTE Global Collaboration PLN’s Innovation in Global Collaboration Award winner is someone who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in and understanding of implementing global collaboration, is passionate about collaborating, and has evidence of successful collaborations. Applications will be accepted between February 1 and February 28 for the chance to be recognized with this prestigious award at the ISTE Conference and Expo 2018 in Chicago. Men modernisten Marcel Proust lär ha varit så besatt av det förflutna att han ägnade 14 år åt att spana efter “den tid som flytt”, så det där med att uppleva en sentimental längtan efter gårdagens guldålder verkar tillhöra människans lott, alldeles oavsett hur modern och nyskapande hen är. Och underligt nog är inte ens unga gymnasister immuna mot nostalgins bitterljuva sirensång. Det är i alla fall min erfarenhet och därför så har jag valt att arbeta på följande sätt: Vi börjar momentet med att resonera om ordet nostalgi. Vilka definitioner finner vi i ordböcker? Sedan läser vi Fredrik Lindströms dikt “Drömvåning” från samlingen Evolutionen och jag kommer inte överens (En recension finns här) och kikar på Darins “Ta mig tillbaka”. Vissa, som jag, gör det genom att jaga diverse detaljer och attiraljer i nostalgibutiker och på nostalgimässor. Draper lyfter fram den kommersiella potentialen i människans sentimentalitet:
School Climate / Social & Emotional Assessment The Washoe County School District Social and Emotional Competency Assessments (WCSD-SECAs) are free, open-source instruments that measure the self-reported social and emotional competencies of students in grades 5-12. The WCSD-SECA instruments were developed through a collaboration among WCSD, the Collaborative for Academic and Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), and the University of Illinois at Chicago through an Institute of Education Sciences Research-Practitioner Partnership grant. The project resulted in the development of two instruments and a bank of items aligned to the CASEL 5 clusters and WCSD SEL standards: WCSD currently administers the long-form assessment as part of its Annual Student Climate Survey. The instruments ask students to rate how difficult or easy different skills are for them to do. For example, one question assessing Relationship Skills asks students, "How easy or difficult is it for you to share what you are feeling with others?"
