Depuis 2007, le CAUE de la Sarthe organise un concours d’architecture. Le thème retenu cette année – « L’abri à bricoles » – visait à créer un prototype d’abri de jardin reproductible en auto-construction, privilégiant le réemploi de matériaux issus de la récupération (bidon, tôles, palettes…). Résultat de ce concours créatif, drôle et très inspirant. 1ER PRIX : La réserve Concepteurs : Véronique Maire, designer et Françoise Maire, plasticienne-paysagiste. L’idée forte consiste à utiliser le principe du mur de bouteilles et les empilements de planches en bois, pour des jeux de transparence et de lumière très subtils. 3ÈME PRIX : Abric-à-brac. Le festival « PETITES MACHINES À HABITER », a lieu tous les ans dans la Sarthe.
