The Heist (album) The Heist is the debut studio album by American hip hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Independently produced, recorded and released by the duo, the album reached number 1 on iTunes within hours of being released on October 9, 2012 with no mainstream promotion or support.[2] The album sold 78,000 copies in its first week, and debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart, but debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums, while entering the Canadian Albums Chart at number 4.[3] As of March 23 2014, the album has sold 1,378,000 copies in the United States and has received generally positive reviews from critics. The album was nominated for Album of the Year but lost to Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. The album won the award for Best Rap Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.[4] The first single put out from all of the recordings was "My Oh My", released on December 21, 2010.
