11 Old and Grungy Film Textures The following textures were taken in the mid-late 19th century using one of the earliest film techniques: The Daguerreotype. I originally intended this to be a set of Polaroid textures, that was before I stumbled across a bunch of old public domain portraits that are freely available on the web. I thought: "these would work great as textures for layers in digital photos." The only problem was: the photographs had people as the main subject, disrupting the awesome and rich textures of the film. So I simply removed the people in photoshop. Voila, genuine 19th century film textures for you guys to use. To the people in the photographs: I'm sorry for erasing you from history. If you've used L&T textures in commercial work or earned a profit from them in your designs, please consider making a donation to Lost & Taken.
