Frame your own artwork
For a while now I have wanted to make an art piece of my own to place above our humble dining room table. The problem? I am no artist. That's right, sometimes crafty girls cannot paint or draw.. or it may just be me. Either way, I have created a fabulous piece of "art" using scrapbook paper, ribbon, fabric, cardstock, embellishments, and any other scraps you have laying around the house. It's beautiful and sophisticated, and I didn't have to use a paint brush! What you need: Large Frame with the piece of glass insert (I got mine on sale at Hobby Lobby. Here we go! Here are some close-ups of the different types of textures I used. Here is the end result. This project is a little time consuming, so mommies - plan accordingly! This is where the completed artwork will hang. Hope you try this fun project. And let your husband hang your framed artwork up. ;) Ciao bella,

V and Co how to: jersey knit bracelet
i don't know what it is about this time of year that makes me just want to have my bare feet in the sand, be watching the sun setting into the ocean, and breathing in the warm salty air of the beach...as i get older, more and more i find myself missing that place i used to go to almost every.single.day. as a teen. (my skin doesn't miss it. as a matter of fact, i now wish i listened more and DID put SPF on my face...hindsight is 20/20). my mom calls me from her walk on the beach almost every morning...*sigh*yeah, i get a little homesick around this time of the year. heck on my pinterest my "dreaming of summer" has the most pictures in it. ah yes. i miss my ocean. case in point. this bracelet, brought a flood of memories, not because i used to have one like it but because i can totally see me wearing it by the beach, not caring that it's gotten salty and wet, because i can totally make another one in like less than 5 minutes flat when i get home. *sigh* okay... *cut off excess tails!

Art From Everyday Objects: Paperclips + String
So today I thought it would be a fun challenge to work with paperclips. You can’t get much more mundane than a paperclip! After much thought, I came up with paperclip earrings. If you have paperclips and some pretty cotton string, you can create these beauties. They’d probably look pretty cool as a necklace too. Here is a diagram to show you where to open the paperclip to create this triangular shape. You are basically unbending the clip at all three of the curves. Once you’ve got the triangular shape, you need to glue the ends together. Fig 1: Winding the string around // Fig 2: Starting to wrap the string around the earring, secured with Liquid Stitch Once you’ve wound all the way round and secured with glue, you can then take another length of string and wind around the width of the “earring” creating horizontal stripes or you can create a more messy look by creating a “net” design (see below). Then just clamp on a pair of earring hooks. Categories: Art, DIY, Fashion
From Kitchen Counter to Beauty Counter | Beauty Nerds United
Lately, I’ve been watching a lot of Cosmetic Couturier lip videos. In every video she always uses the sugar scrub from LUSH. I know a lot of you probably have the same problem I do when it comes to LUSH…it’s ridiculously difficult to get to one of the stores and ordering bath products online can be a bit scary. I am hypersensitive to certain scents, so I can’t just pick something out and try it out without some serious fears. Today, I decided, I want my own lip scrub. I headed out to my kitchen and came up with this… I used a stainless steel bowl that I rubbed down with alcohol first to disinfect. I used a 1:2 ratio for sugar to olive oil In the picture I used straight up white sugar because it is what I have. You should get a slightly crumbly and lightly moistened mixture. I added about 1/2 a teaspoon or so of honey. Then I added a half a capful of lemon juice and vanilla extract. You can add whatever flavorings you want. Then stir… Transfer your mixture to a sterilized container and store!
