If You Want Dessert, You First Have To Eat That Frog — From Pass Do you have a task that you’ve been procrastinating on, one that gets bigger every day even though you’re trying to ignore it? I usually have a couple of those on my list. These are tasks that I’m dreading for one reason or another: tediousness, refusal to face the truth, fear, shame… Adoption Can’t Be Driven: Enterprise 2.0 by Paula Thornton The wagons are circling…around the wrong campfire. Clearly, adoption is an important part of Enterprise 2.0 efforts. The FASTforward Blog team believes it’s significant enough that we’re shifing our focus to the topic. But the language of adoption for 2.0 is broken: 10 Tips For Entrepreneurs And Start Ups Looking To Embrace Social Media I’ve been involved in a couple of start ups over the last couple of years and in both, due to having very limited marketing budgets, social media has been the main form of our marketing activities. This is the same for nearly all starts ups these days, social media is often the first port of call as it is cheap (often seen as free), accessible and fairly easy for founders and small teams to embrace. It’s a fairly logical step to start promoting your start up through social media because most entrepreneurs will have a decent personal network anyway so getting the message out to them is a next logical step. I wanted to share 10 of the top tips that I have picked up about using social media for start up businesses…
How to Build Conversations in Social Media Using the 3 P’s Are you just getting the ingredients together to start a business? The 33 Strategies Of War I’m a big fan of psychologist and author Robert Greene. Previously, I deconstructed his landmark book, the 48 laws of power, and interpreted how the laws apply to blogging. It was a pleasant surprise for me to discover he has written two other books outlining laws applicable to the areas of seduction and war. War strategy is especially compelling because businesses take cues from military strategic successes in areas such as how they react to changes in the marketplace from competition and how they position their external communications. I’m not advocating war, rather in the realms of both power and war the best offense is a good defense. War is unfortunate, but instead of pretending it doesn’t exist, let’s learn from it.

Below is an excerpt from Chapter 17 of Implementing Enterprise 2.0 on Pilots, which describes 8 guiding principles for pilot programs. While there are no hard and fast rules for establishing successful pilots, eight guiding principles that should be kept in mind are: “It is reasonably cheap and easy to get a pilot up and running to evaluate how successful a new Technology will be. Fail fast, fail cheap.
Dix commandements pour une entreprise à l’épreuve du futur How can one manage a sustainable and resilient business, respectful of our planet and our economy? According to Simone Cicero, companies that intend to survive into the 21st century need to rethink the way they create value and start with giving up their competitive advantage! Here’s why. These days, no one can pretend not to see how the mechanisms by which we produce and consume our wealth are showing some growing signs of dysfunction such as the numerous speculative bubbles, the negative impacts on our environment, and the growing social inequalities, to name just a few.
