Twitter SEO - How to Optimize Your Website For Twitter Search March 15, 2009 - Written by Gyutae Park A couple days ago I wrote about the 6 reasons why Twitter is the future of search. With social media and search fusing together, what does this mean for SEO? In other words, how do you optimize a site to perform well on a social “search engine” like Twitter? In this article, my goal is to describe to you how the SEO game is changing and how you can most effectively take advantage of Twitter and its social conversation search features to increase your traffic and build your brand. But before we dive into the tips, take a quick look at this article by Patrick Altoft entitled If Google did Twitter search. So SEO’s, how do you prepare for the social search revolution and optimize for Twitter? 1. That being said, tweeps (people on Twitter) are no different than searchers on Google. The great thing about Twitter is that you can easily use it as a market research tool to better understand the people you’re targeting. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Pikter | Photo Sharing For Twitter and Jaiku March 22, 2010 It is with great disappointment that I must announce the closing of Pikter. We hope you’ve enjoyed the service we’ve provided.Previously submitted photos to Pikter will remain housed at Pikter and will be available to be viewed via their short url.If you or someone you know may have any interest in purchasing the service or name, please contact us athey@pikter.com.Chris Yesterday I received an invite to Pikter, a new photo sharing service that allows you to share pictures on Twitter and/or Jaiku. I’m not a huge photo sharing person myself but to anyone that is, this site will definitely come in handy for you. Of course, it is in private beta so you will need to request an invite. Pikter is very easy to setup & only requires that you enter a few details in addition to your Twitter username & password and/or your Jaiku API Code. Once you do that, Pikter will give you a personal email address where you can send pictures to share on Twitter and/or Jaiku. That’s about it.

Did Twitter Lay Down for Google? - Sugarrae Or do they just not trust you? As you may have heard, Twitter recently decided to “nofollow” links left in the “bio” section of user profiles. The “web” link has long been a nofollow link, but the bio links passed popularity until Dave Naylor exposed it, which alerted Matt Cutts (a Google engineer) who sent a tweet to @ev (a twitter founder) about Dave’s forementioned post and *poof* bio links were nofollowed. Now, as I sat there thinking about all of this happening, I became increasingly annoyed by one question. @mattcutts curious as to your reasoning that this link SHOULDN’T count? And that last tweet is something everyone should really be looking at. But then @oilman brought up the other side of the coin: @sugarrae @ev is saying he doesn’t vouch for his users – why not a nofollow filter on spam accounts? And maybe @ev isn’t willing to vouch for his users. @ev question, why did you agree to nofollow the twitter profile link? But here’s the deal.

8 Excellent Tools to Extract Insights from Twitter Streams Twitter is now the third most popular social network, behind Facebook and MySpace (Compete, 2009). A year ago, it has over a million users and 200,000 active monthly users sending over 3 million updates per day (TechCrunch, 2008). Those figures have almost certainly increased since then. With the torrential streams of Twitter updates (or tweets), there's an emerging demand to sieve signals from noises and harvest useful information. Enter Twitter Analytics, Twitter Analysis, or simply just Analytwits (in the tradition of Twitter slang). Besides Twitter Search, the following 8 Analytwits are some of the more useful web applications to analyze Twitter streams. 8 Great Tools for Social (Twit)telligence TWITALYZER provides activities analysis of any Twitter user, based on social media success yardsticks. Twitter Group I got busted on “the Twitter” at work in the GSLIS office yesterday by Michael. I explained it was educational Twitter use, but nonetheless, he had caught me. Perhaps it was a good thing too–inspired this blog post. I find myself checking Twitter more than usual during a slow work shift–fascinated by the number of people who tweet at the workplace. Curious, I asked one enthusiastic Twitter friend in advertising industry about her increased Twitter use from nine to five. She wrote: Twitter at work is kind of like voice mail for me. Perhaps Twitter can be useful at work–and not a browser window you close quickly when the boss walks by your desk. Categories: twitter Tags: community , election , twitter , voting Tweets on Election ‘08 became my favorite part of this year’s presidential race. Stuck at the reference desk during the showdown debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden, I was glued to the Twitter Election feed to stay up to date with what both candidates had to say.
