From time to time people ask me to have a closer look at their country, e.g. France. The first question in such an analysis is the number of Twitter users in France. Based on the location info in the Twitter profiles, I was able to find 6229 Twitter users in France, still active users. History of the Twitter accounts in France The graph below shows the history of the Twitter accounts from France. Private or public 769 Twitter acounts from France or 12% have chosen to keep their updates only available to their friends. Number of following A Twitter user can choose to follow one or more other Twitter accounts, called "following". 997 Twitter accounts from France or 16% do not follow other Twitter users. Updates An update is the term refering to Twitter messages published by a Twitter users.

I’m not a huge photo sharing person myself but to anyone that is, this site will definitely come in handy for you. Of course, it is in private beta so you will need to request an invite. Pikter is very easy to setup & only requires that you enter a few details in addition to your Twitter username & password and/or your Jaiku API Code. Once you do that, Pikter will give you a personal email address where you can send pictures to share on Twitter and/or Jaiku. That’s about it.
Did Twitter Lay Down for Google? - Sugarrae Or do they just not trust you? As you may have heard, Twitter recently decided to “nofollow” links left in the “bio” section of user profiles. The “web” link has long been a nofollow link, but the bio links passed popularity until Dave Naylor exposed it, which alerted Matt Cutts (a Google engineer) who sent a tweet to @ev (a twitter founder) about Dave’s forementioned post and *poof* bio links were nofollowed. Now, as I sat there thinking about all of this happening, I became increasingly annoyed by one question. @mattcutts curious as to your reasoning that this link SHOULDN’T count? And that last tweet is something everyone should really be looking at. But then @oilman brought up the other side of the coin: @sugarrae @ev is saying he doesn’t vouch for his users – why not a nofollow filter on spam accounts? Twitter Group I got busted on “the Twitter” at work in the GSLIS office yesterday by Michael. I explained it was educational Twitter use, but nonetheless, he had caught me.
