Interestingly, although the Sydney Harbour Bridge opened three years after the Tyne Bridge, its design was actually based on Sydney's bridge. Great article below from and pics from Flickr. The Tyne Bridge is one of Newcastle's most popular icons and a symbol of Tyneside's industrial pride. The earliest bridge across the Tyne was built by the Romans, Pons Aelius, near the location of the present Tyne Bridge. After it fell into disrepair, a stone bridge was built in 1270 but this was destroyed by the great flood of 1771. The idea for the Tyne Bridge goes back to 1883 but it wasn't until 1924 that the plan to build this major river crossing finally got the thumbs up. You’ll need a Blu-ray burner, a BD-R or BD-RE (Rewritable) disc, IMGBurn software and some content to burn. In this guide, we’ll assume that you are burning files extracted from a BD-ROM (Blu-ray Disc Read Only Memory) movie disc. To extract (rip) files from a BD-ROM movie disc, we recommend AnyDVD HD. For this guide, we ripped the Blu-ray movie “Queen Rock Montreal & Live Aid”.
