Nancy Straughan DIY Geometric Necklace Happy Friday! Here’s a fun and quick necklace project I made this week you might want to try over the weekend. Every since I made the DIY faceted earrings I’ve been considering how to make a necklace in a similar way with a slightly different look. Supplies - Polymer clay- I used white, but use whatever color you like - Glitter – I recommend the fine Martha Stewart branded glitter, it really is superior - Blade – Polymer clay blade or razor blade (be careful!) Steps: 1. Tagged as: diy, geometric, glitter, gold, necklace, pendant, polymer clay, white
Strawberry Chic Miss Moss DIY Orange Bracelets Because I’m thinking orange this week I thought I’d share a couple DIYs that pre-date this blog. The bracelet above is one I did over a year ago and it’s really simple to make. The chain was from Michaels and I used embroidery floss to wrap two lengths of it together…. that’s it! It also reminds me of the project Honestly WTF posted a few months ago – they’re both takes on the same general trend. This one is made from Indian glass beads wire-wrapped to a chain. It’s a simple technique that looks cool when it’s repeated with tons of beads. Tagged as: bracelets, diy, jewelry, orange
Sania Pell At Home – The Blog snake’s head love April 21, 2014 in flowers I have so many favourite flowers but one that comes up very high on my list is the snake’s head fritillary – Fritillaria meleagris. I have been fascinated by this spring bulb ever since I was at art college in Edinburgh and came across a beautiful drawing of one made in 1915 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The pattern fascinates me, as I’m sure it did Mackintosh, and they really are a miracle of nature. As a long-time member of Kew Gardens there are swathes of them located in an area that I hunt out each Spring to see them growing en masse. I photographed them against simple backdrops devoid of fuss. I grow them each Spring in my own tiny garden and always get excited to see their little heads poke up in the flowers beds or in pride of place in pots on the garden table.
