This 800-year-old Icelandic hymn sung in a train station is utterly hauntin 28 September 2018, 15:15 This devotional hymn was originally written in 1208, but its mesmerising beauty is completely timeless – as this spontaneous performance in a station in Germany proves. Sometimes the most profound moments of music are the simplest. An Icelandic indie-folk group walked into a resonant space in a train station in the German city of Wuppertal – and then this happened. The group is Árstíðir, and the music is the 13th-century Icelandic hymn "Heyr himna smiður", and adapted by Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson, one of Iceland's most important 20th-century composers. Join classical music's biggest community - like Classic FM on Facebook Following the success of this simple moment of music-making (the video has been viewed five million times), the choir recorded the song with Anneke van Giersbergen – find out more about that here. And if you fancy recreating this at your local train station, here's the sheet music of the hymn. In the mood for more vintage melodies?
Obama and Holder Let Gangsters Pay Fine, Continue Business As Usual Imagine if Charles “Lucky” Luciano and his “Commission” representing the five reigning New York Mafia families plus the Chicago mob had been immune from law enforcement meddling in their activities, from the establishment of the “Syndicate” in 1931 to the present day. By now, Luciano’s gangster heirs would be the unchallenged rulers of economic and political life in the United States and, by imperial extension, the entire capitalist world. Going on five years into the Obama regime, it is clear that Wall Street is immune from prosecution, no matter the savagery of the economic crime. Attorney General Eric Holder “has ruthlessly maneuvered every case against the oligarchs into his own jurisdictional arena, in order to protect the banksters from aggressive prosecution.” JP Morgan’s Jamie Dimon is a far bigger bandit than Lucky Luciano. JP Morgan chief executive Jamie Dimon is the man Lucky Luciano dreamed of becoming. “Dimon and his fellow banksters can easily afford the levy.”
Fight Club When I first started this little website, back in 2008, I threw a bunch of little books and movies into an amazon store. I didn’t necessarily explain anything about any of them. I just mentioned that there were hidden meanings and messages within them. And I left it up to people to look for things and determine things for themselves. Some of the films may only contain one little message that holds a metaphysical truth — that can impact one’s consciousness — with deeper realizations. One of the most impacting movies that I threw in the list was the 1999 film, Fight Club. Fight Club is a graphic analogy and metaphor — symbolic of destroying human ego and illusion. Why even mention this movie? Fight Club was considered to be one of the most controversial films of 1999. Fight Club rattles the cage of the human ego and the rigid intellectual opinions of the human mind. To really understand Fight Club — you have to understand “false image” and “imitation”.
Agenda 21: No, the government isn’t going to confiscate your property. - Slate Magazine - Iceweasel Photo by Jason Reed/Reuters Pssst! Have you heard about Agenda 21? The secret plot to collectivize private property—hatched by United Nations internationalists and midwifed by operatives ensconced within our own government—all in the name of "ending sprawl" and "encouraging sustainability"? The seizure of suburban homes by jackbooted, gun-toting U.N. thugs? No? Don't blame Glenn Beck. In truth, Agenda 21 is the sort of nonbinding, suggestion-filled "action plan" the United Nations generates whenever it holds any kind of major international summit. Last August, Stanley Kurtz, who has lectured at Harvard and the University of Chicago, wrote an article for the stalwart conservative journal National Review that appeared under the provocative headline "Burn Down the Suburbs?" For Beck, Kurtz, and Kotkin, all the evidence one needs to back up such breathless assertions can be found in the language of sustainability and "smart growth" used by environmentalists and their allies in government.
The Georgia Guidestones - Historic Mysteries The Georgia Guidestones courtesy of Belinda Dobie The Georgia Guidestones consist of four tall granite slabs, a centerpiece of equal height and a capstone that sits atop the other five stones. The four granite slabs are each 16 feet, 4 inches tall. They are 6 feet, 6 inches wide and 1 foot, 7 inches thick. They each weigh more than 20 tons. The Georgia Guidestones were commissioned by a man who called himself Richard C. At the bank, Richard spoke with banker Wyatt Martin. Christian agreed, but with a few conditions. Construction on the Georgia Guidestones began in 1980. Now, the reason for all the to-do about the Georgia Guidestones is certainly the function and messages of the monument. The above functions obviously give the monument a decidedly ancient pagan feel. This is what they read in English: 1.
For The First Time Ever, Scientists Have Produced Fractal Light From Lasers Two decades after the hypothetical prediction that it should be possible, scientists have been able to produce fractal light from a laser. Not only that, they've shown the fractal light could be created in 3D rather than just 2D. Displaying one of nature's most common patterns from a very human-made technology could open up opportunities in all kinds of communication and imaging fields, the team behind the breakthrough says. You don't have to look for long to see these geometrical masterpieces in nature – they're everywhere from snowflakes to salt flats – but it turns out that discovering them in a beam of laser light requires some very carefully calibrated observations. Fractal pattern cross-section. "What is amazing is that, as predicted, the only requirement to demonstrate the effect is a simple laser with two polished spherical mirrors," says one of the researchers, Johannes Courtial from the University of Glasgow in the UK. Fractal light created by laser.
Seven House Judiciary Members Demand DOJ Investigate James Clapper For Lying To Congress Since the Snowden revelations first started coming out, forcing James Clapper to admit that he flat-out lied to Congress, we've been somewhat perplexed as to how Clapper could come out of the whole thing "unscathed." Congress seemed willing to look the other way, and the President didn't appear to have any interest in firing Clapper or Keith Alexander, so as not to "let Snowden win." But, it's never made much sense. Lying to Congress is a pretty serious crime -- and considering the lying was to cover up a program that just this week was found to be unconstitutional, it seems even more serious. The fact that anyone in Congress thinks that Clapper can even be remotely trusted to tell the truth going forward when he got away with lying, seems bizarre. Hopefully that will be changing now. Back in October, Rep. Congressional oversight depends on truthful testimony--witnesses cannot be allowed to lie to Congress.
