Marc (1) - Google Wave As we announced in August 2010, we are not continuing active development of Google Wave as a stand-alone product. Google Wave will be shut down in April 2012. This page details the implication of the turn down process for Google Wave. Stage 1: Google Wave is read-only -- January 31, 2012 In this stage, you will no longer be able to create or edit waves. Robots that try to write to a wave will stop functioning. During this time, you will continue to be able to export your waves using the existing PDF export feature. If you want to continue using Wave, there is an open source project called Walkaround that includes an experimental feature to import all your waves from Google.

This ties in with the previous commandment; social media is all about engaging others in conversation and to do that you need to first listen to what others have to say. There are a lot of tools out there that will not only help you listen but will also help you engage. TweetDeck Interface 3.

This is particularly useful if you're troubleshooting a page's poor performance in search results. For example, if you use rich media files to display content, the page returned by the tool may not contain this content if Google can't crawl it effectively. You can choose to fetch a page as Google's regular web crawler sees it or, if you publish mobile content, as our mobile crawlers do. Information returned by the tool includes: The HTTP response returned by your server The date and time of your crawl request HTML code The first 100KB of visible (indexable) text on a page. If your site has been hacked, the Fetch as Google tool can help you identify problematic pages. This can happen when a malicious hacker penetrates the security of a site and inserts undesirable content, disguising it so that it doesn't appear to normal users, but only to Googlebot.
