Main : Proyectos/Projects Puentes mutantes - OSS OFFICE FOR STRATEGIC SPACES La cualidad simbólica de los puentes los ha llevado a representar la construcción de Europa y la unión entre distintos países, quizá entendidos como orillas. Pero son también un símbolo de utilidad económica. Las obras públicas han sido y son estructuras funcionales. Un puente, por ejemplo, suele estar diseñado para que pase el ferrocarril, y sólo el ferrocarril o sólo tráfico rodado o sólo peatones…Esta historia técnica, económica y constructiva los ha convertido en metáforas de una utilidad dirigida y única, ligeramente excluyente, inadecuadas para representar la sociedad actual. Pero los puentes, o algunos de ellos, han sido ya ocupados y dados otros usos, como el “puenting”. El salto es una actividad propia de los tiempos modernos, una mezcla de insatisfacción y aventura que trata de cruzar barreras y penetrar en otro medio. Recientemente se ha desarrollado una actividad urbana consistente en saltar entre edificios o apoyándose en ellos. « Roberto Manzano se tiró 4 veces 20-2-2000 ».

On the other, a square horizontal plane that runs along the middle of the full volume accommodates the permanent and temporary exhibition spaces and appears to float, giving the building an iconic and impressive image that suits its promotional purposes and future oriented character. The communal lobby space and the physical void space that accommodates it connect the ground to the sky and tie the entire building together; on the third level the science club, staff spaces and the planetarium are placed, offering exciting conditions for work, with views downwards towards the lobby and outwards towards the science park and the city. status: competition program: urban plan, science institute, science garden and landscape design area: Masterplan 11,66 ha, building 12.000 m2 location: Belgrade, Serbia

Our office is a workshop, because its not mainly composed by architects, its made up by craftsmen, carpenters, painters, welders and architects. The city itself is our studio, and our main focus has been building well designed housing in a city where half of the housing units were self built in illegal settlements.
