
ARKive - Discover the world's most endangered species Wildscreen's Arkive project was launched in 2003 and grew to become the world's biggest encyclopaedia of life on Earth. With the help of over 7,000 of the world’s best wildlife filmmakers and photographers, conservationists and scientists, Arkive.org featured multi-media fact-files for more than 16,000 endangered species. Freely accessible to everyone, over half a million people every month, from over 200 countries, used Arkive to learn and discover the wonders of the natural world. Since 2013 Wildscreen was unable to raise sufficient funds from trusts, foundations, corporates and individual donors to support the year-round costs of keeping Arkive online. As a small conservation charity, Wildscreen eventually reached the point where it could no longer financially sustain the ongoing costs of keeping Arkive free and online or invest in its much needed development. Therefore, a very hard decision was made to take the www.arkive.org website offline in February 2019.

Bjerrumdiagrammer - pufferligningen Andre navne: (Eng.: Bjerrum chart, bjerrum plot, species distribution diagram) Bjerrumdiagrammer er en måde at visualisere hvilke ioner der dominerer i en opløsning ved en given pH, diagrammerne udvikledes af Niels Bjerrum (1879-1958) som var en Dansk kemiker. For at optegne et bjerrumdiagram må pufferligningen omskrives så forholdet mellem ionerne i et korresponderende syre/basepar kun udtrykkes ved syrens koncentration, dette gøres med syrebrøken. Syrebrøken som y-akse og pH-værdien som x-akse, dvs ionsammensætningen som funktion af pH. Regneeksempler, fx hvad er den procentvise sammensætning af ionerne i en opløsning af aminosyren glutaminsyre ved pH 7,4? For the most part, it is laid out in small segments or "cards", true to its original development in HyperCard. The entire environment is interconnected with thousands of links, reminiscent of a neural network. Part of the intent for this exploration environment is to provide many opportunities for numerical exploration in the form of active formuli and standard problems implemented in Javascript. New content for HyperPhysics will be posted as it is developed. A resource that was initiated as a resource for local high school physics teachers whom I had taught has expanded into an intensively used website worldwide.
