Pink Elephant Jewelry • Home Depot can be chic? Awesome Stuff to Buy Woven gift-wrap // pastel edition ^_^ By Kate on August 8, 2012 I noticed that the woven gift-topper I made last year was doing the rounds again on Pinterest so I thought I would make an updated pastel version (pastels seem to be the new neon at the moment). I bought some quilling strips (0.5cm) to use this time which reduces the labour by about half (I’ve also been working on some more intricate woven ‘things’ for another project…more to come soon). Anyway check out the previous post if you want full instructions. Above: Mischevious hands – the unseen backdrop in all my photo’s ^_^ While I took photos today my boys were making their own presents by wrapping boxes in newspaper. Finally, the font used on these images is called soymilk and it’s free to download …yay!

Chandelier From Paper Clips Speaking of lights made from wire, here’s a chandelier made out of paper clips. Pretty cool idea! Looks like ReDesign Technologies “deconstructed [a] cast-off lamp shade” and used the round wire circles from that as the structural elements of the chandelier. Then they forms a patterned design with the paper clips and used them as a kind of chain mail between the circles. Hang a light bulb down the center, and voila! I am continually fascinated by how lamps and chandeliers can be made from almost anything. $185 on Etsy. & Pic Break #25 / Yababoon yababoon ⋅ HaHa's, Stock content ⋅ break, pic, pictures ⋅ 1 comment Source: 9gag 50 Kick-Ass Websites You Need to Know About - Page 3 Prezi.com Pitch a Meeting Microsoft’s Powerpoint is truly a hassle to use when you’ve only got a few hours to put together a full blown presentation. DIY Soda Can Coasters Well, Summer is in full swing here now. Kids are home all day and we are enjoying the more relaxed schedules. I am heading out tomorrow to attend the annual MDA Summer Camp I have been involved with for several years. I shared a little bit of my experience with the camp last year here. I have been a volunteer camp counselor (group leader) over a group of kids with Muscular Dystrophy and their volunteer helpers. But today I have a new little project for those of you who drink your beverages out of a can or know someone who does. Yes…that is my favorite drink of choice…that I no longer drink…Boo! Simply empty out some cans of your choice and rinse them out with water. Then I took some Silicone and put a good amount on the back of the square. Then I set a paper towel on the top of it and laid a pile of books on it and let them dry over night! Then simply place some felt pads on the bottom of the coasters to protect your table top from getting scratched! Aren’t they fun? What do you think?

50 Things Everyone Should Know How To Do Self-reliance is a vital key to living a healthy, productive life. To be self-reliant one must master a basic set of skills, more or less making them a jack of all trades. Contrary to what you may have learned in school, a jack of all trades is far more equipped to deal with life than a specialized master of only one. While not totally comprehensive, here is a list of 50 things everyone should know how to do. Edit: Do you like this post image? SugarBlog - Not a $168 necklace! Do. It. Yourself. A few weeks back I was trolling through one of my most favorite women's collections. This one caught my eye.... It is called the Acrobatics Necklace... It is $168.00 american dollars.... As I looked closely I could tell this would be an easy make. I started out taking step by step pictures and then realized video would be easier. You will need: a box of large paper clips, colored duck tape, scissors, an exact-o blade, cloth measuring tape, "spring ring & eyelet" jewelry hooks and a picture of the necklace. I'm not sure what type of "brightly hued sheaths" (hee hee) they used but lucky for us Duck Tape started making lots of fun colors... not just grey anymore! Duck Tape is one of two very important purchases at the craft store. The concept is easy. That part is easy.... but, the tape is too wide for the paperclip. So, you have to cut each strip. Not a huge deal but there are specific measurements and a method to cutting the tape. I hope this video helps.

Easy Upgrade: Super Toilet Easy Upgrade: Super Toilet Our toilet is no longer the mild-mannered everyday toilet that you’d assume it was. Thanks to being born on the planet Krypton some simple DIY projects that we tackled last weekend, our former Clark Kent of a throne now boasts two new super powers. Can’t you just picture the comic book? Here’s a rundown of the two blissfully “tool free” (more on that later) projects that we took on. The first was to convert our toilet into a dual-flush tank using a simple $20 converter kit (search HydroRight on Amazon.com or check to see if Home Depot has it) that a reader mentioned to us (thanks Allison!). Let’s start with the dual flush conversion kit. The box also claimed that this installation would be totally tool-free. With the old pieces removed, the first task was to slide the bottom part of the dual-flush tower into place where my old flapper had been. Then it was time to set the rest of the tower. Here you can see what the button looks like.

Resistors « What. No Mints? Though I’ve only ever worked with or seen them a handful of times in my life, I’ve always thought resistors were one of the more interesting and attractive of the electronic parts. They’re small, curvy and come in some of the neatest color combinations. It seems that Eva also has a fondness for these little components – As she fashions them into intricately unique and pretty pieces of jewelry, such as this Climbing Ladders Necklace. To see more of her work, you can visit her shop – Aula46. This weekend I’m off to Dad’s again – We’ll be running 12 miles tomorrow. Have a relaxing weekend and I’ll see you back here Monday! Four Men in Hats From Mycoted Shown above are four men buried up to their necks in the ground. They cannot move, so they can only look forward. Between A and B is a brick wall which cannot be seen through. They all know that between them they are wearing four hats--two black and two white--but they do not know what color they are wearing. In order to avoid being shot, one of them must call out to the executioner the color of their hat. After one minute, one of them calls out. Question: Which one of them calls out? This is not a trick question.
