The Best Chocolate Mousse of Your Life Under 5 Minutes : Cafe Fernando – Food Blog - chocolate mousse recipe - herve this - Chocolate December 22nd, 2010 | Category: Chocolate Two ingredients (seriously, only chocolate and water) and five minutes later, you will be eating The Best Chocolate Mousse of Your Life. I promise. And you don’t even need any fancy kitchen gadgets. This amazing discovery was made by the famous French chemist, Hervé This, who is also known as the man who unboiled an egg. Since the recipe has only two ingredients, it all comes down to the quality of the chocolate you use. Don’t take this as a mousse recipe only. You can also flavor it with spices like cinnamon or cayenne pepper or add a tablespoon of liquor like Grand Marnier, Chartreuse or Tia Maria. Or boil the water first, take off heat, place a couple of Earl Grey tea bags, let infuse and then use it as your liquid. The most important part of the recipe is achieving the right consistency. As soon as I hit the publish button, I’ll start working against a very tight deadline for the book. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes with Whiskey and Baileys The only way a good stout beer, whiskey, and Irish cream liquor could be better is if they were mixed together - a la an Irish Car Bomb. Better still though, would be mixing it all up with some chocolate in the form of rich Guinness chocolate cupcakes, filled with Jameson chocolate ganache, and topped with Bailys buttercream frosting. Variations on this recipe can be found on loads of amazing food blogs like Smitten Kitchen, the Busty Baker, and others! Note: These do contain some booze that isn't cooked off, so please be careful (no heavy machinery, etc.) and keep them away from the youngsters. Also Note: "Irish Car Bomb" is a pretty horrible thing to call a drink or a cupcake.
Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread I’m sorry. I know it’s Monday morning and you probably came here for some pretty pictures of food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day… and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face. It’s not fair. I know it’s not fair. I know that now you’re craving cinnamon rolls, and cream cheese frosting and chili fries and hot dogs. I am too… and I already ate half of this warm bread. You don’t deserve this sort of torture. This bread hits all the comfort spots in my soul. I’m sorry and you’re welcome and I love you. Let’s start at the beginning. I did this all without the use of a stand mixer and dough hook. This dough can be made and left to rise , then refrigerated overnight for use in the morning. This is the dough just before it’s left to rise. After the dough has rested and risen for an hour, I knead it in a few tablespoons of flour. This is the part in the bread process where you can wrap the dough and place it in the fridge to rest overnight.
The Cook Abides. Two Minute Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake This, friends, is where procrastination gets me. I was staring at the computer, mired in writers’ block. I clicked on that Stumble button I installed in my toolbar but never use. Oh look! A new webpage has popped up! On it, a recipe for single-serving peanut butter cake you mix and microwave in a minute. The chocolate:peanut butter ratio wasn’t quite right, and so I made the cake chocolate with a spoonful of cocoa. Chocolate chips are a must – they turn into gooey pockets of melted chocolate in the finished product. Butter or spray a ramekin, or do it right in a mug. It took mine a minute to cook, rather than 30 seconds. Note to self: pick up some vanilla ice cream. Two Minute Chocolate Peanut Butter Cakewith thanks to Cassie of Back to Her Roots! Lemon-Basil Ricotta Stuffed Shells in a Champagne Cream Sauce: Can you EVEN believe I almost forgot to share with you this delicious baked pasta recipe? It was back in November when I made this pasta… and I remember the day perfectly… It was real sunny. POW {that’s the sound it makes in my brain when a recipe happens}! Please don’t think I ran out and bought champagne. Butter a baking dish and set aside. On the large holes of your box grater; shred a cup of Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese. Season the ricotta with a little extra salt and pepper if you haven’t already. Combine half of the pecorino with the ricotta and set aside. Measure out 3/4 cup of champagne. Cook the pasta just short of al dente in salted water. Drain and spread them out onto a rimmed sheet pan or some parchment paper. Stuff each shell with some of the cheese and place them in your prepared dish. In a small sauce pan, melt three tablespoons of butter and add some finely minced garlic. Whisk until the garlic softens and is fragrant but not brown. Then pour in the champagne… Ingredients:

The place that started it all was a local Chinese buffet here in Michigan. After frequent visits to the buffet over the years, I finally decided to take a stab at cooking my own Chinese dishes at home. The majority of the dishes were delicious and I began cooking different Chinese meals every week, but I had always wanted more variety just like the buffet. I had always wondered, “what if I could create a Chinese buffet at home?” I have wanted to do this for along time so I was very excited when I was chosen to be part of the 24,24,24 event presented by Foodbuzz. In this article I will explain how to create your own Chinese buffet at home. Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pull-Apart Bread I usually know I've found a winning recipe, when I say the title and start to salivate. Cheddar bacon ranch pulls did just the trick. I ran across this recipe on Plain Chicken, and it's plain addictive -- she also refers to it as "crack bread." It's an easy way to spice up an otherwise standard meal or to wow company. Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread How do you make bread even better? You stuff it with pepperoni and cheese. Then, you bake it in a bundt pan that allows you to pull off little chunks and dip them in pizza sauce. This bread takes a little bit of time to prepare, but in about half an hour I had filled my bundt pan with little dough balls, each with a piece of pepperoni and cheese stuffed within it. My new definition of bliss: warm dough with a cheesy center and a bite of pepperoni. Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Breadfrom Confections of a Foodie BrideIngredients: -2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced -4 tbsp butter -2 lbs pizza dough (I used 2 balls of Trader Joe's fresh dough) -6 oz. mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes (about 48 pieces) -pepperoni (about 48 slices) -2-3 cups marinara sauce for serving Directions: 1. 3. 4. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip It’s time for a little confession. I realize this may get me shunned (especially in my hometown of Pittsburgh!), but….I don’t like football. I don’t like to watch it, I never liked playing football with my friends, I don’t even like playing catch with a football. If there was one thing Mike could change about me, I’m pretty sure this would be it. I saw this recipe on Jessica’s blog and made it the very next day. *Note: Jessica also has variations of this dip on her blog. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip Ingredients:1/2 cup butter 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 8-ounce block of cream cheese, softened 3/4 to 1 cup powdered sugar (*to taste) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips, plus extra for sprinklingDirections:In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND BAKE!: PASTRY Last night, I decided to make one of my favorite cookies. These little pastry swirls are so delish! I usually use my favorite pie crust recipe, which I have previously posted, but I decided to try a pastry recipe by the Barefoot Contessa. This recipe calls for lots of butter! I used my 14-cup Cuisinart Food Processor (love it) to make the pastry dough. It's so easy in a food processor, so if you haven't invested in one, do so very soon! Pastry: 2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 cup granulated or superfine sugar 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 1/2 pound (2 sticks) COLD unsalted butter, diced Directions: Place the flour, sugar, and salt in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a steel blade. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Divide your dough into two equal parts. Keep one half covered in plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator. About 1/8" thick I still have some rolling to do! You can use any jam or preserves that you like. I used Strawberry Huckleberry jam. Yes.....more butter.

There we were on Friday night updating our site, when all of a sudden it disappeared! gone…vanished… it was awful … We had wiped out our whole blog, no more recipes, no more comments, no more statistics… nothing. After moments of shock, yelling, screaming, and a few tears we calmed down and found our most recent backup. We made turkey meatballs, but as usual decided to add a few non-traditional flavors just becasue we could.
