It's as if the Tea Party had been dominating the news since September 17, rather than Occupy Wall Street. The point is not that we should forget about balancing the budget. What's more, in the medium term - the next decade - Ryan's plan would have added $6tn in debt, while cutting the deficit by a mere $155bn. The Globalization of Protest - Joseph E. Stiglitz NEW YORK – The protest movement that began in Tunisia in January, subsequently spreading to Egypt, and then to Spain, has now become global, with the protests engulfing Wall Street and cities across America. Globalization and modern technology now enables social movements to transcend borders as rapidly as ideas can. And social protest has found fertile ground everywhere: a sense that the “system” has failed, and the conviction that even in a democracy, the electoral process will not set things right – at least not without strong pressure from the street. In May, I went to the site of the Tunisian protests; in July, I talked to Spain’s indignados; from there, I went to meet the young Egyptian revolutionaries in Cairo’s Tahrir Square; and, a few weeks ago, I talked with Occupy Wall Street protesters in New York. This is not to deny that some of the 1% have contributed a great deal. Research in recent years has shown how important and ingrained notions of fairness are.

Uma boa oportunidade para vivenciar essa experiência encontra-se em Agora/Ágora: criação e transgreção em rede. Ágora era a praça central das antigas cidades gregas, um local de debates e tomadas de decisões da comunidade. Partant du désir de Manuela Nogales d’expérimenter une création avec un autre chorégraphe, Dentro por Fuera, Fuera por Dentro confronte les deux chorégraphes interprètes à leur manière de travailler, de penser, de construire, de bouger, de sentir, de percevoir. Tous deux désireux de changer leurs habitudes et réflexes de création, ils décident de travailler ensemble, tantôt en Belgique, tantôt en Espagne. Chacun leur tour, ils amènent petit à petit une réflexion autour du contenu de leur création. Ainsi, Manuela propose le thème de départ : la musique et son rapport avec la nature et l'homme. Bud rajoute le son dans la relation entre deux êtres. Ici, nous ne demandons pas aux chorégraphes de renoncer à leurs formations, à leur acquis.
