No Heat SJP BIG CURLS w/ Twisted Buns ...also known as Bantu Knots
If you follow me on Instagram you already know about this because I shared it there see photos below but the other night I slept on twisted buns to get these BIG CURLS just to switch it up a little which the husband LOVES. In fact he said “You know, you could do that MORE OFTEN if you wanted to”. Big curls are a BIG hit around here In 2009 I did a quick video demonstrating how I twist my hair into the little buns whilst singing to Lady Gaga – but I only did a photo tutorial of how to get the finished look. So the other morning before I left for the gallery I filmed it for you and hopefully answered all the questions I’ve gotten about this easy little tutorial. The first and last photos were taken at around 5:30pm in the afternoon so you can see how the curls fall a little and become big waves, though my hair doesn’t get any smaller. * CLICK HERE for outfit photos and details. Partial French Braid with Cascading Hair ~ Tutorialalso known as the "Waterfall Braid"
I’m not the originator of this hair style but I’ve gotten so many requests for it, I thought I’d give it a go for you. I don’t know what it’s called either so I haven’t researched it and/or found any other tutorials for it …thus, this is my version of it, and I’ve dubbed it the Partial French Braid w/ Cascading Hair. The photos I’ve seen online show the braid a little more straight across the back of the head and mine sort of braids at an angle, similar to my side/low french braid up-do. Enjoy. Get Curly Hair Using an Old Pillowcase
If there's one thing I've gathered from my girlfriends when it comes to hair, it's that you always want what you don't have. This rule of thumb also generally applies to boob size too, but that's a post for another day. Being one who falls squarely in the category of naturally wavy hair (in the ugly, frizzy way), I've always lusted after big, bouncy, bodacious curls. Funnily enough, my husband also lusts after big, bouncy and bodacious, but we're not talking about curls (wokka wokka). Since I was little I've been obsessed with curls. My mom is the only one of Grandmother's three daughters (there are also three boys) who didn't have super curly hair, and this pillowcase technique is how Grandmother curled my mom's hair as a girl. A note on how to do this technique - just like with a curling iron, the smaller the sections of hair, the tighter the curl, and the tighter you wrap your hair, the tighter the curl. P.s.

Splatter Nails Tutorial
Splatter nails are super cool and easy to do, but they make a huge mess! I didn't tape my nails for this tutorial, and I really regretted it while I was doing the clean up. If you want a tutorial for how to tape off nails check out this one. Aside from the mess, this tutorial is a breeze and I got so many compliments on them. Play around with your color choices and make something beautiful! In this tutorial I used Tip Top Nail Chic in Twilight for the base and splattered Beauty UK polish in Black and Lilac Girl, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Mint Sprint and Wet and Wild in Tickled Pink. The ombre manicure made its appearance as a hot trend last summer, and it's back and better than ever for 2012. You can go matte, shimmer, glitter, or merge colors on one nail with sneaky makeup tool tricks -- but I'm giving you the EASY version today, just to get you started. When I first saw this trend, I thought I'd need five different polishes in the same color family, just lighter and darker versions of each other. For my color inspiration, I decided on "Devious," a midnight purple shade in a creamy matte (no shimmer) that I got from Ulta (whose eponymous nail polish is buy one, get one free right now!).
