Portfolio EIE/IBE BYZANTINE MONUMENTS OF ATTICA Athens, symbol of the classical civilization, changed its course during the Byzantine period. During late Antiquity it constituted a great intellectual and cultural center in the Empire. However, the following period was characterized both by the prohibition of the teaching of philosophers in the School of Plato under Justinian and by the conversion of the Parthenon into a Christian church. The veneration of a pagan virgin goddess gave its place to the veneration of the Virgin Mary. These two initiatives of the Byzantine Government sealed the end of the national cultural tradition of the Mediterranean identified with Athens.
Schweizerische Numismatische Gesellschaft Engagiert für die Numismatik Die Schweizerische Numismatische Gesellschaft (SNG) engagiert sich seit mehr als 125 Jahren für die Numismatik. Die SNG schafft Verbindungen zwischen Sammlern, Wissenschaftlern und Händlern, indem sie Personen und Projekte zusammenbringt. Die 1879 gegründete SNG ist die grösste numismatische Vereinigung in der Schweiz, zählt aber auch zahlreiche Mitglieder im Ausland; sie ist als gemeinnützig anerkannt. Die beiden Zeitschriften mit Beiträgen in vier Sprachen geniessen internationalen Ruf.

La section (BCS-TRA) de la Bibliotheca Classica Selecta (BCS) propose des traductions françaises originales, tantôt annotées, tantôt commentées, d'oeuvres latines ou grecques. Généralement, ces traductions sont intégrées dans le projet Hypertextes louvanistes [section latine et section grecque] qui autorise une lecture de l'oeuvre avec le texte ancien et la traduction française en regard, tout en permettant par ailleurs, livre par livre ou traité par traité, de multiples recherches lexicographiques et statistiques. Pour certains textes, le projet Corpora [section latine et section grecque] autorise ces recherches sur l'intégralité des oeuvres, et non plus sur des livres isolés. 2.
MICHAEL Publication The MICHAEL project The MICHAEL and MICHAEL Plus projects were funded through the European Commission’s eTen programme, to establish a new service for the European cultural heritage. The MICHAEL project was a partnership between France, Italy and the UK to deploy a cultural portal platform that was developed in France. MICHAEL European portal The projects have established this international online service, to allow users to search, browse and examine descriptions of resources held in institutions from across Europe. The MICHAEL database is based on national inventories of digital resources that have been created by the project partners. At the time of writing, in Spring 2008, there are plans to include in the MICHAEL European Service the national inventories for Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
