New York Times Photojournalism - Photography, Video and Visual Journalism Archives - Lens Blog Invitation Ruault Phillippe Photographe 1 Photographe de grands noms de l'architecture (Jean Nouvel, Rem Koolhaas...), Philippe Ruault propose une lecture qui ne s'arrête pas à la simple description du projet, il prolonge le travail de l'architecte, et offre une vision parfois troublante et toujours surprenante. Le photographe n’est pas seulement au service, il abandonne la fonction ordinaire du reportage, de l’inventaire pour faire naître un autre instant détonnant. L'agence Unité a choisi de proposer à Philippe RUAULT de suivre la réalisation d'un projet de l'agence, Zac de la Courrouze à Saint Jacques de la Lande. Ce premier travail est le début d'une commande pour laquelle le photographe porte son regard sur un projet particulier de l'agence, tout au long de sa gestation. La forme définitive de ce travail devrait être un livre et une exposition. En utilisant des ingrédients qui lui sont propres, Philippe Ruault va mettre en lumière « l'histoire du projet » en captant des instantanés d'une architecture en devenir.

The Blog of Photographer Alastair Philip Wiper Vestforbrænding in Glostrup, just outside Copenhagen, is the largest waste incineration plant in Denmark. That means it’s the place where Danish rubbish ends up after it has been chucked in the bin and forgotten about. Lorries carrying around 1,500 tonnes of waste turn up at the incineration plant every day, and the burned waste produces energy and hot water; the waste is seen as a resource that can be substituted for fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. You would imagine this place would stink like hell, but actually it doesn’t – it’s so clinical that the only time I even saw any rubbish was from behind a glass window while the trucks dumped it and machinery took care of the rest. The good citizens of Copenhagen and the surrounding municipalities take some of their rubbish to recycling centres, where it is sorted into various different “waste fractions” and then sent on to the right places to be recycled.
